I'm just curious what other people do. If your child is young and you write thank you notes for gifts they receive, do you write them from the perspective of the child or from the parents? LO has some adorable note cards that say Thank You at the top and his name at the bottom so I'm not sure which would be appropriate.

Depends who it is to. If it's "from" one of his friends, I write from his perspective. Same with close family. If it's an adult friend (without children), then I usually write it from mine. Whatever feels most natural based on our relationship/the gift.

Totally depends on the recipient. I probably do 90% from me, but a few "from" the baby if it's going to someone who might find that amusing.

My LO is 2 and I write from my perspective. When LO can contribute (essentially dictate a simple thank you or draw a picture) I think they will be from her perspective.

For Xander's first birthday party, I had note cards that said "Thank You" at the top and "Xander" at the bottom. I wrote the card from my perspective (the parent), but still just left his name as the signature.

I usually sign from all three of us but write it from my perspective. My son is only 1 so that makes the most sense to me now. When he's able to put some appreciation into words, maybe I'll just transcribe it for him.

I usually write from my perspective, since my son isn't quite two yet and can't contribute to the card. Sometimes I will sign the card from the whole family.

We do the same as Nana87, but I let her color on the card so it has her touch to it.

Now that she is 3.5, she sometimes will sputter out a thank you and I write it down. Its usually cute to put it in her words (thank you for the super awesome cool toy). Then I have her write her name (or draw something).

for his first three birthday's so far, I've ordered cards with his photo that say, "thank you for celebrating my 1st/2nd/3rd birthday with me - love, J" and I let him color/draw/write his name on the inside.
I'll add a little note in there, too.
