Thanks to DT and those awesome little songs we now sing about all the corrections we try to encourage E with. Today we sung "We don't say hunh? We say pardon me?" Like a zillion times and it's working! Do you sing silly songs like this or is it just me?

@butterbean: I just make songs up! Whatever I needed to do I hum to a silly tune. It works

My DD sings some of the songs, but her new trick is if she is mad or frustrated about something, she says "grrr!"

I've been sick for the last week or so, and my kids have both been singing "when you're sick, rest is best, rest is best" over and over. Ha!

DH was humming a Daniel Tiger song and I started singing the words. I think LO just thinks the songs are cute but doesn't get it..:I plan to use them to teach her things

They are constantly in my head! They really work though. I haven't seen that one though. Hopefully the new season will be on amazon prime soon!

When we say Daniel tiger, p crumples up his fists and fors grrrrr. Its adorable and marks me laugh every time.he does it.

Those songs really work! I find myself singing them to LO a lot to remind her of whatever the lesson is, and also making new songs. LO likes to tell the kids in her class who are having a hard time with dropoff that "don't worry! Grown ups always come back! Mommies always come back!". LO employs a lot of the songs on her own too - like if she says she is scared of something, she'll follow that up with singing how she needs to "see what it is so I might feel better" heehee

I think that is why they made those little songs - so caregivers can sing them to encourage behavior

I feel ridiculous when other people are around but those songs work!

The boys don't sing the songs yet, but sometimes when we hug they say, "Ugga" (uggamugga, or whatever it is they say when they hug).

I totally use the show songs and it never occurred to me to make up my own when we have other issues we are working through. Genius. Thanks for the inspiration, @prettylizy:!

We love the songs and use them regularly, plus other songs that we have adapted from other places...teeth brushing song etc.

huge DT fan, although i do think she heard/picked up "mine" from the title song. she's DT obsessed now. every tiger at the wild animal park was "tigee"

We often use "grown ups come back." In fact, I'm in Chicago visiting my husband as he's here for work and LO is staying with my mom. Apparently she sometimes wonders where I am so my mom will explain it and she will say "Mommy come back" to reassure herself
The other is uggamugga, said before bedtime when we're doing hugs and kisses.

We sing Daniel Tiger songs all the time! I am so excited for summer 2015 - an amusement park in western PA is opening a Daniel Tiger ride. (it used to be the Mr. Rogers Trolley.) I can't wait to take L.

"Grow ups come back" song helped with preschool drop offs and he told ME one day, "if you're feeling frustrated, take a step back and ask for help". I hadn't even heard that one. Now if he would only take the potty song to heart ....

The only problem with this is that if we sing any of the songs (which we know ALL of them by heart), DS asks to watch an episode. So that doesn't always help. . . And due to the show, DS is insisting that he wants a sister. . . sorry buddy, you're getting a brother.
I need to start memorizing the other tunes
