In a couple of weeks DH and I will be taking a trip together, and leaving the girls for NINE days with my mom. The longest we have been away from them is 5 days. We really really need this time away together, but I know after a few days I'm going to miss them a lot.
What's the longest you've been away from your LO? How did you feel being away from them? Did you talk to them on a daily basis?

5 nights when he was 6 months. It was really easy because he was still very "out of sight out of mind" so he didn't even notice. And we were so desperate for that first trip away that we were ok too.
I've done lots of smaller trips since then, but none over 3/4 nights.

2 nights when I had lo2. She's had a few nights at my mum's house but they were just overnight. Haven't been away from lo2 for the night yet and probably won't for a while

Two nights. I've only been away from them overnight to have their sisters. Haven't been away from the baby for more than three hours yet.

3-4 nights, can't remember exactly, and it's. Even a few times over the years. A week or more would be lovely but I just can't inflict that on my

10 days for a work trip. I've done that twice. I also was gone 5 days another time.

Dh and I have left him a few times for 5 days or so. He's always with one of his grandmas. We are leaving him at the end of the month and I'm a little worried because he's more aware now. It was easier when he was younger! I tried to FaceTime him last time and he got hysterical so I probably won't

Both of us, 2 nights away from LO1 (3 years old now, went away when she was almost 2.5), and one night from LO2, who is 9 months now. She was 5 months at the time.
I guess technically I was away longer from LO1 when I was in the hospital having her sister, but Dh was home with her nights 2-3.

Going away for 3 nights next week for a babymoon with my DH. DD will be with grandma, who watches her 5 days a week anyway so I don't think she'll miss us too much! Def getting my mom a much deserved thank you present

2 weeks from LO1 (twice) and no more than a few minutes from LO2 (who is only 11 days old!).

LO1, 5 days- we took a trip when he was 2.
LO2- a work day. He isn't only 9 months and we haven't been away.
BUT I leave tomorrow morning (by myself) to go to visit a friend for 3 nights!

I've left them for 24 hrs at a time, twice. I'm sort of pathetic and it was really hard on me. I don't think the kids really cared, except at bedtime because they usually nurse then!

4 nights for #1, and about 12 hours from #2. We leave next week for a 4 day trip that will be first overnight away from youngest.
I would like to take a longer trip eventually but that's pretty much the max days we feel comfortable asking someone to watch them and that I can stand be away.

I left my son with DH for 4 nights when he was 15 months old.
The first time we were both away from him was for 2 nights when I had dd.

Like six hours. It's really kind of sad and pathetic. We don't live near family and all of our parents still work so they can't just come stay with her. DH has been dealing with a very serious back injury since January and has only recently been able to take care of her solo.
We have a long weekend away planned for next spring but that feels so far away!

3 days when I flew to another state to adopt a newborn. It was the worst thing in the world for me and I still feel tremendous guilt about it. After that I made a pact (mostly with my husband lol) that I'll never leave them again. Well til they are like 18. Maybe.

For me......6 days. For DH, over a year (Military).
For the first time not this weekend but next we BOTH will be away the same time and my parents are watching LO. We do not have family nearby so its never really been an option before but road trippin to the Midwest for a wedding and my parents are going to watch her. Its a first for both of us to be gone.

12 days. I went to the Middle East with my sister. It was long, but it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I love to travel. The kids were with DH or their grandparents or nanny the whole time, so I knew they were in good hands. I missed them a lot but unfortunately didn't get to talk to them much because of crappy wifi and time zones.
Funnily enough, DH and I went to a cousin's wedding in wine country about a month later for four days annnnnd I didn't miss them much then. Too much fun finally getting some time away with DH! And I got to talk to them more, too.
