Okay, jojogirl talked me into this book and E had a pretty successful first day.
What did your "blocks" look like? How did you move from the potty chair to the insert on the toilet? She seems to get it, but self-initiates, so she doesn't tell us with a warning necessarily. Just walks over, sits and does her thing
Curious what everyone's experiences was with this specific methodology

We used the three day method, so I don't know about this one. But we had both the potty chair and the toilet trainer thing and told DS he could go wherever he wanted. After a few days he seemed to prefer the toilet trainer, I think he thought he was a big boy going like mama and papa.

I also haven't read but am in the middle of potty training. We have a potty seat and a seat on tr toilet right next to each other. He prefers the little one, but he'll also go on big toilets in public bathrooms. So varying it had worked really well...although no poops yet. Potty training is so hard!

We are "kinda" potty training.... I can get him to poop but am unsuccessful with any pees yet!

Where is the potty chair? For a while I kept it out in the middle of the room where we were so it was easy to get to. The plan was to move it gradually to the bathroom and then go to the seat on the toilet. But ... he did not really like the potty chair. Fortunately we had a small apartment and it was easy to run to the bathroom whenever it looked like he had to go, which is what we ended up doing. Pro tip: Leave the child seat on the toilet during training. Every second counts when you're trying to hit the target.

@blackbird: we are potty training this weekend too. How did moving the potty to one place work out? Today we've been bringing it around too. He likes sitting on the big potty too but when he's gotta go, he runs to the little one.

@travellingbee: well, she's gone in it twice where it's at. She's had one accident. And she peed in her nap diaper. She wants to carry the potty around now, so I've been discouraging that

@travellingbee: she had a few-first thing in the morning when I turned my back, a second one after sitting numerous times and nothing coming out and then she walked away to get a toy, and then a third one when DH was on pee catch duty and he dropped the ball.
We're still naked today. And I don't feel like she's peed enough for me to feel like we can move on to pants, but I may try anyways because we have daycare Tuesday

@blackbird: L's been a rockstar today, peeing in the potty at least 2-3 times an hour. He even did a little poo. All self-initiated, not putting him on the potty. But after nap, he freaked out that he didn't want his diaper off and not keeps intermittently whining for his diaper. Not sure what to do

E kind of whined for her diapers but forgot about them after I repeated numerous times that they went bye bye. I think she's a camel because she hasn't peed in hours. We're trying pants tomorrow

@blackbird: We are using this method right now and she self-initates really well with pee but only if she is naked. Need to move into block 2! Anyone have tips?

@Finfan: nope! I'll give it an attempt over thanksgiving. She's soaking in the mornings. So we'll see if she consolidates her pees after she's day trained
