1) We don't eat at the times LO needs to eat
and
2) I don't want her eating the kinds of foods we eat at the weekends!!! *blush*
E has started to refuse to eat unless she can feed herself. I'm scouring the interwebs looking for finger food ideas but I keep stumbling upon this advice: let her eat whatever you're eating!
LO is with her grandparents/ at daycare during the week. She eats lunch at midday and dinner at 3pm. She is so tired by the time we get her home at 5.15ish, it's bottle, bath and then bed. We cook and eat dinner (varied meals) after she goes to bed.
At the weekends, we tend to have a late brunch at around LO's lunchtime - bacon sandwiches or sausage and egg sandwiches. We usually let her have a bit of egg or a bit of toast but, really, I want her to eat proper, healthy food!! Other times, we skip breakfast and have, maybe, some soup at lunchtime or sandwiches. But I don't want my kid living off bread!!
So, then 3pm rolls around and we're not hungry yet! We are used to eating dinner at 7pm!
I want to be a good role model for her but, Jeez, it's difficult!!
Can anyone sympathise? What did you do - did you start eating full meals earlier in the day? Did you start eating healthier foods at the weekend to encourage your LO? Or do you just feed him/her different foods at different times?
