I am so impatient that there is no way I could wait to find out. And it would be so annoying to have everyone constantly asking you what you're having and you don't know.

I'm finding out and I am motivated by the FUN of a cake party for the big reveal. (Doc will put the info in a secret envelope, which we will give to a bakery. We'll find out when we have a party and cut into the cake and it is either pink or blue inside.)

We are definitely finding out. We'll probably just find out at the OB's office.

We did. I love pink and all thing girly, and I knew if I had a girl and missed out on all that stuff I'd be upset.
For baby number two we're going to go team green, now that I have my girl and lots of pink, I don't have to worry about missing out on it and we'll get to have the fun surprise my hubby wants

I'm a planner and not into surprises. So, it was just a no-brainer for me to find out the sex.

We found out. Honestly, there was never a question of whether we would or wouldn't find out. We just did.

For my first, I didnt mind not knowing. The element of surprised seemed nice, but my husband wanted to know. This time around I WANT TO KNOW, because I want a girl so bad and cant wait 9 months to figure it out

We are finding out next week, but we will take it with a grain of salt just in case they are wrong. we dont plan to tell anyone and will still shop on neutral colors until the baby arrives

We loved being team green and not knowing! Our little girl still has plenty of pink girly stuff.

I'm not huge into surprises so I would definitely want to find out ASAP so I can plan.

I peek at all my christmas presents. What makes this any different? LOL.
But really, I am just too impatient and feel like there will be enough surprises that if I can know and partially prepare for a certain gender then that will help a bit.

i hate surprises and i'm very impatient - no way i could wait until 9 months! i already found out!

We didn't find out and it was fun. After she was born, I asked my husband what we had and he was so excited that he didn't know. He had to uncover her on my chest to look. Once he did, he still wasn't sure she was a girl due to being tired/excited.
It just felt like I was finally meeting a pen pal, but even bigger. Like I had known her, but not all the way. Make sense? Plus, I would've been petrified of having a girl if we'd found out beforehand.

We are finding out, we are sooo impatient and I love buying baby stuff so I cant wwait to know what we are having!

We were Team Green First time around- even with a total of 11 ultrasounds we managed to not find out. I was convinced that it was a boy so I was very surprised!
We knew that we would have more than 1 so it seemed logical to stay gender neutral on strollers, etc. It was fun finding out in the delivery room. Next time, we'll find out.
pineapple / 12526 posts
There is no way I could wait! I even paid to have an ultrasound done as early as possible so I could know. lol. I'm impatient and wanted to start buying cute little clothes.

I can't wait to find out. One more week, the suspense has been killing me. There was never a question--we both want to know.

Not pregnant yet but my hubby and I have discussed.... he is all for finding out as soon as possible (he peeks at all his presents too @.twist.!) but I am all about it being a surprise.
Plus if we have a girl I wouldn't want to get all pink girly stuff at the shower and such. I guess we will have to wait and see!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
I don't think I'll be patient enough to wait 9 months!

I want to find out for the name aspect - it's hard for me to get attached to babies before they are named. Also, I'm decent at sewing baby clothes, and I'm looking forward to sewing velvet/corduroy dresses (purple or green) OR overalls (red or blue).

We're finding out this time around. I'm too much of a planner and figure it will help me feel a little less overwhelmed being able to plan ahead. We'll probably leave it a surprise with a future pregnancy though.

When DH and I were talking about TTC we didn't want to find out, as soon as we found out we were pregnant we wanted to know right away (mostly me), so as soon as we can find out we will. As a compromise we decided we were going to keep the sex between us, although we'll see, DH is awful at keeping secrets

I'll definitely find out genders for all of our children. I am way too Type A and have to be able to know and plan things as best I can. I'm also just not very patient sometimes.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
We are still debating what to do!
DH initially said he really wanted a surprise. I have always wanted to find out. I think I've beaten him into submission, though...now he says we can find out and it's up to me whether we do. Now I'm feeling guilty though!
But I'm leaning towards finding out. We work a lot and DH works a lot of weekends and nights and I figure that anything we can do to make the transition easier we should take advantage of.

We're both planners so finding out was definitely a must. We even paid for a 4D ultrasound because our Dr couldn't tell 100% if it was a girl.

I'm too impatient and too much of a planner not to know. plus thats half of the names you've picked to rule out.

I want to find out and my husband is on the fence. So we decided to find out for the first and then be surprised for the second.

Along with everyone else, I'm too impatient to wait the 9 months! We found out at our 18 week anatomy scan.

Oh we are battling this one, we aren't quite TTC yet, but we talk about it very often. I am also the girl who peaks at presents & does not like surprises, so I want to find out. My husband is anti-finding out. I told him that I'm going to win this one, and at least with the first we will find out. I would like to do the cake surprise, however I don't know if I can wait that long without knowing did I mention I'm highly impatient??
persimmon / 1085 posts
My husband and I both want to be Team Green. We both feel like the surprise will be amazing! I'm sure it'll be hard to wait, but for us it is worth it!
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
I go back and forth, but I think we will probably find out. I feel like it would help me bond with the baby, and while I wish I could say I don't care, I really would like to have a super girly shower if it's a girl!
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts
Hubs and I were convinced that we wouldn't want to find out, but changed our minds when we were actually pregnant. When we get pregnant again, I'm not sure what we will do.
