Multiple strollers - travel system, frame, jogger (going to get rid of 1 soon)
Jumperoo - seemed unnecessary
Shoes - DH thinks they are frivolous

A jumper.... I just didn't think she needed "toys" like that

So far it's been a stroller & wipes warmer. We have a caddy to use with our car seat, but in this TX heat I can't leave her in her car seat for too long. The wipes warmer has made diaper changes a lot better as well, before she would turn purple from crying and screaming her lungs out.

Toys with noise and lights! But he absolutely loves them. We only have a few but they are some of his favorites. Though I still think that wooden toys encourage imagination I realize that's not more until preschool years!

Also pacifiers.. But J loves his paci.

Bottle warmer (love that I can heat a bottle and try to soothe a hungry baby at the same time!)

So far nothing!
I thought I'd never buy a double stroller.. after some thought I decided to hold off on it.
Baby boy likes being worn and DD's umbrella stroller is good enough for now!

I returned all the gifts like this that were bought, but kept 2 that I could return and they are his favourite!

We were given a few toys with sound as gifts - he really likes them, but I probably won't buy more unless one breaks.

A big play kitchen. I wanted to go minimalistic and had my heart set on DIYing her something myself. I've spent hours searching images for inspiration (in multiple languages even)! But it all turned out to be more of a project than I anticipated. A ton of the really nice DIYs are actually a LOT more money than the sets already available.

For instance, just the faucet (I wanted a real one) costs $23 (cheapest I've found, i live abroad) unless I dedicate my weekends to garage sales and flea markets. Same with a stable cabinet that fits the dimensions of the stove we originally bought. That's not including a new hand saw I'd need to cut out the hole for the bowl sink. I guess if you alreDy have everything you need, it works. But I don't so yeh, I've come to terms with it.

@Navy_Mommy: @betsyboop: ditto. we live in a small apartment and i can certainly hear everything going on in the nursery. however i broke down around 10 weeks because it's so much more convenient to take a peek on the monitor to see what he's up to as opposed to trying to open the nursery door quietly and praying that i don't bother LO. i really like it now that he's more mobile--when he's crying, i can look at the monitor to see whether he's just trying to fall asleep (sucking his thumb), in which case i don't go it, or if he's got a limb stuck in a crib slat, in which case i go move him.

A video monitor... now I feel like we NEED one.
A million toys... I can't help myself.
A million clothes... ditto.

Formula...

@zippylef: I think I'm sadder about spending the money than about the formula now... haha - $$$!

I am trying to avoid Sophie, but I really think she would love it!
