I never thought we would co-sleep (in the same bed), and didn't think we would still be wanting to co-sleep at 1 year old!
Didn't think I would be talking about poop, thinking about poop, googling poop colors and searching for poop-related forum discussions as much as I do!

I never thought:
I'd talk out loud to myself so much, even in public (as in, please, please, please don't wake up!)
I'd expose myself so much in public in the name of breastfeeding
I'd actually miss work.

I never thought I would schedule my whole life around a nap schedule (naps are sacred! live by the schedule die by the schedule)!
@regberadaisy: I had an unexpected day off last week and had already scheduled the babysitter. I ended up sleeping 'til 9 for the first time in 8.5months, getting my hair done and using a gift certificate I had for a massage. UN-REAL.

Baby isn't here, so I don't know yet what I'll do that I said I never would-- though I try not to say never!
@MamaJ: I just discovered that DH thinks he will never get peed on. We are team green, but both think it's a boy, so I told him, if it's a boy, you WILL get peed on. It's a fact. He thinks he'll always cover it and never get sprayed. He is SOOOOO wrong.

- cosleep and really really love it
- let him watch a little bit of tv so i can get ready for work
-throw a towel over peed on sheets and go back to sleep
- be so passionate about doing whatever i had to do to breastfeed (elimination diet for dairy and soy)
I am sure there are a ton of other things but those are the ones that really surprised me.

I also never thought I'd become that crazy lady who smiles at babies or talks to "herself" while grocery shopping.

@Foodnerd81: haha. You will for sure get peed on. But eventually we figured out when he was about to go. So it rarely happens now but still does occasionally.

I never thought I'd catch projectile poop in my bare hand to keep it from hitting the curtains. Or...
-give a paci
-co-sleep
-want to quit my job and stay home
-fall in love with my baby so hard and fast! My heart could just explode.

From only 8 months of diaper duty (I said duty), I never thought I would know so many different words for "bottom" nor that I would have sung so many of them to LO while attempting to stop him from freaking out while I am changing those diapers.

Be able to fit back into my pre-preg 4s... but have to tuck my stomach skin into the waistband
Sit and watch my LO crawl/play for hours, happily.

This is cracking me up! Great post!! My addition-
I never thought I would:
- enjoy breastfeeding
- work so much less than before and coming to terms with it
- be so extremely heart-broken when LO decided to wean off the breast at 8 months. It was worse than the worst breakup I had
- be *that* mom who posts so many pics and videos of LO on Facebook
- opening the door shirtless to receive a fed ex package while doing skin-to-skin breastfeeding (LO was on nursing strike and he took the breast peacefully at that moment, while FedEx wouldn't stop knocking on the door for a package which requires signature)
- drank too much water (in the hopes of increase supply) and ended up having amnesia, in the ER, and hospitalized
- like kids.
- enjoy motherhood, and be able to love so much
- loving my cat less than my son, unfortunately
- give an understanding look to moms who are trying to calm their uncontrollable crying babies in the restaurant / on the plane

@Foodnerd81: my mother still tells me about the time I peed on her as she was changing me in the back of the car. I've come to accept that I will get peed on by my child.
