Third times a charm?

@winniebee: I have a cousin who is an OB specializing in fertility. She told me that progesterone varies so much even throughout a day that it's hard to get a good read on what is going on from a single blood test. Maybe that's why they aren't testing you? Also, studies are questioning how much, if any, good supplementing does. That being said, she encouraged me to take the prometrium (I'm also newly pregnant after two losses this year) bc it doesn't hurt. Most importantly, congrats and good luck!

Update - today's test was a barely there/squinter/maybe a shadow. Not sure if yesterday's test was a fluke (googled the batch of tests and everything)....so I'm just going to wait a few days until I'm actually late and test again. My husband and I talked about it last night and I think if I had recurrent losses (3 in a row) or two miscarriages in later weeks (6-8 weeks) then I would do the progesterone without any sort of blood work, but not with two chemical pregnancies in a row. Thanks so much for your support and well wishes!

@winniebee: Good luck and keep us updated. I would totally take the prometrium as it doesn't hurt to do so and at least for me, it was super cheap (mostly covered by insurance). Even just to give you some peace of mind if this pregnancy seems to be sticking. I agree with a prior poster that basically, all fertility treatments include progesterone, whether or not you need it. seems pretty standard and granted you didn't have those treatments, but it doesn't hurt take some. good luck over the next few days

Maybe the progesterone supplementation would be worthwhile because it will at least take one possible issue off the table... just a thought.

Update - another loss unfortunately. I'm sad, but sort of numb to it now. Feeling very fortunate for my beautiful boys this Christmas. Thanks for all your kindness
