We have all been sick one way or another for more than three weeks now. The almost 3 year old had a cold, then ear infection, then o caught her cold, the 6 month old caught the cold, 6 month old got pink eye, my cold developed into a terrible sinus infection.
Now my toddler has a terrible virus with a really high fever and just feels terrible. She is waking up a lot at night. The baby still wakes at least once most nights to nurse. Usually my husband takes the toddler at night because I have to take the baby, but he's traveling for work so it's only me. It's impossible. Family isn't local so I have no one to come stay and help out. I literally don't know what to do.
What do you do when you are solo parenting and everyone needs you all the time? Forget sleep for me. I just can't literally be snuggling and comforting the toddler while also nursing the baby.
You just cant win with it; at some point, someone's gonna cry - you've only got two hands. I usually let the baby cry for a bit, then tell E she has to wait while I feed S, then listen to her cry for a bit.
Sometimes bringing them both into bed with me helped. But that is not a strategy that works for everyone. Hugs
Do you have a regular babysitter you use that you can ask to come over? Maybe a friend?
Hope you all start to feel better soon.
