The family I work for has the second one and we love it. It is decently long for a play slide which is nice. I can't say I have ever tried to fold it though. The first one is cute, I would be prepared for your lo climbing up over the sides before long- will that bug you?

I don't know if you care about the price, but the Little Tikes First Slide (http://www.target.com/p/little-tikes-first-slide/-/A-14510257#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=first%20slide) is considerably cheaper at only $35. It folds up too. It's shorter than the Step2, but definitely still long enough to be fun. Especially in the summer, into a pool.

I really like the first one and think they have lots of "life". I like the platform for little ones because the regular slides can be hard with no top spot for them to figure out how to go from the steps to sitting down (legs get stuck under them).
Plus my 2 year old still plays with her platform like one because she likes to climb and can get up there and play "lookout".

We have the one @photojane: linked too. R got it for her birthday. We haven't used it yet but I love that it folds up.

We have something similar to the first one and the slide is already too small for my 18 month old (he's pretty tall). So I would go with the 2nd slide!

We have the 1st one, and maybe my 2.5 yo is small but he still plays with it a lot, and friends' kids who come (up to 5 yo or so) will still go down it a few times even if its ridiculous like their legs almost touch the bottom. He also likes climbing/hiding underneath.

@beaker: thank you!
@lilyann: good to know, thank you for letting me know!
@T.H.O.U.: I like the look of the one you posted a little better...
@Cole: I'd actually encourage that, since it is outside and she would be using her imagination. I'm weird.
@photojane: @Mamaof2: thank you!! I'll look into that Target one, as well.

@mediagirl: they sell it on Amazon too, if you prefer ordering it. But, it's different colors... red & blue, I think?

Do you have any kind of natural slope in your yard? We recently made a hill slide and we all adore it. The kids like having a longer slide (they are 20 months), and I like that I don't have to worry about a highly elevated platform. This is what we bought: http://www.amazon.com/Swing-N-Slide-NE-4675-1T-Cool-Slide/dp/B003UJFWG0/ref=pd_sim_t_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0HGKT80MSXSE52KP7DN2
