I like bibs best, keeps the back covered. We have both snow and rain models, lol.

I prefer bibs too, I think LL Bean has bibs that have seams inside the legs that you can rip out to make them longer so they last for two seasons.

I think the difference between a snowsuit and bibs is that bibs still require a coat and a snowsuit covers everything, you just need mittens and maybe a hat.

i'm going to try and get a bib. so the snow doesn't go down his pants in the back.

@SugarplumsMom: I just think they are so much warmer. But I never thought about if you have a hot-natured child. Lorelei is, but I am pretty sure there will be many days of below zero play, and I just feel more comfortable having her in something that can't let in drafts and keeps the snow where it belongs. We've had Burtons and Land's End as well (well, Ellie has), and Obermeyer is the big favorite all around. We average two seasons' use, so even though they are not cheap, if we buy on sale it is totally worth it!

@Mrs. Twine: I'll have to check that one out! I've heard a lot of good things about a brand from Finland called Reima, but Polarn o. Pyret and Didrikson's are also popular here. I ended up getting mid-season suit from Reima and I really like it - it's light and very well made. Next year, I'm definitely keeping an eye out for their sale. The PO.P snowsuit I got is pretty heavy, but seems really sturdy, plus I couldn't beat their sale price! I'm more inclined to buy whatever's on sale, so finding new good brands help!
