I like month names! I don't think that they need to line up with the month that you are born. I know a ton of Aprils and Mays and none of them were born in their respective months.

I think you can use Juniper and August for ANY time of the year!

Not a month, but I had a friend named Summer who was born in the fall, and I never though it was weird.

@Arden: I actually prefer when they are NOT born in the month of their name! It's too matchy matchy otherwise. Maybe I'm weird though

I think it's actually weirder for a kid to have the same name as the month he/she is born! August was a front runner for us for a while and I'm due in May. So August was the month they were conceived!

Just wanted to mention that Juniper is one of my guilty pleasure names! My husband was sooo not on board, but I though having a little Junie would have been too cute.

I like them! I especially like Juniper!

i think month names are totally ok to use! I love season names to, like Winter.

I like all those names. January was new to me, but I've come to like it!

I know an August. Not born in August. They call him Gus.

I also know an April May Lastname...born in April.

I prefer them not to match their birth month.

I know someone named April May. She was born in April, but her due date was in May. I always think "how original?" (siblings names also have a similar "how orginal" feel, like same name as someone famous and being named after city conceived, so it might be extra obvious to me with that particular family).

@Bao: haha sure you could.. just like poor little North West has a direction for both her names, lol!

I wouldn't use them if they are born in that month.

That said, they aren't names I am really fond of but don't hate them.

@twodoghouse: Please don't share that conception fact with your child, TMI...they will be traumatized..LOL

I've been wondering about this too, I love the name Autumn, but was curious about the protocol for naming one.

January is derived from Janus, which was a name. June is believed to be derived from Juno or possibly Jupiter.

As was July, which was Julius, August was Augustus, September-December used to be months 7-10.

I think using something like January is a bit unusual, whereas April is more commonplace.

I love the nickname Auggie!

I like august. Gus can be cute for short or auggie for a girl. Juniper? Personally not a fan because it sounds bit contemporary and trendy to me? However I did know a dog named juniper...

@Mrs. Blue: @cmomma17: I agree with you two that I prefer it when the name is not the month they're born in. Personally that kind of has the cheesy factor for me, I like those names but couldn't bring myself to do it if the month born and the name matched!

I like August and for anyone who asked I would just tell them it means "magnificent"! I'm also considering Julian for a June baby, so clearly I don't care.
