@hilsy85: oh man, i'm sorry but i laughed out loud with that! there are times when R says some ridiculous things out of anger and i have to keep it all in not to laugh in her face!

Mine is having a gigantic meltdown right now because I put a night light in the bathroom. "Noooooo. I don't want a night light. Aghhhhhh. I don't want a night light!"

My kids have found a new way to fight, the 3 year old will ask the 2 year permission to do something, she will say no and he will cry. Things like, can I play with my truck? DUDE. Why are you asking her?!?! Ask me! I'm the mother!!

@regberadaisy: This explains my hubby having a martini just about every night hahah I don't drink (gives me migraines), sometimes I think I should though!

Yesterday was a rough one - we went to a big shopping center and DD1 wanted to go into "her" stores only (i.e. toy shop etc), and wouldn't listen, generally being a pest.

In the car on the way home her dad and I were "talking to each other" in the car, while she was quiet in the back seat. She's a expert eavesdropper. I peeked back and saw her just quietly listening. A few minutes later she said "Mumma, I had a good day and a bad day, because I was being a bit naughty and yelling and not listening. I'm sorry mumma". UGHHHHHH my heart go boom. Its those moments of self-realisation that kill me.

Wow, E has woken up in a winning mood today. So far, she refused to go to the toilet (and by refused, I mean screamed "NO!" and then had a full on physical fight with DH when he tried to lead her there). Then she had a meltdown because she didn't like the cup he brought her milk in. She kicked DH and then cried because he "hurt her slipper", then she sat next to me and hit me because I was "squashing her". We asked what show she wanted to watch and she screamed "nothing". Hmm.

@Cherrybee: H had a full on meltdown last night because I wouldn't put a diaper on her. Today is the day all the diapers go away. I'm alone, pregnant, and I have GD, so I can't even eat my feelings.

@avivoca: Atkins do a fudge caramel bar (sugar free and very low carb) that I found went some way to helping!!

@Cherrybee: kids are wierd. Have you ever read the book "The No No No Day"? My son loves it (a little girl hates everything and tantrums all day) and when he has a crummy day we tell him "huh, is it a No No day?" It gives us a little bit of respite before he goes back to tantrums

My son had what has to be the 456th meltdown over wearing pants. How does he not accept yet that just underwear isn't appropriate for leaving the house?!

@Cherrybee: I'll have to look that up. I might just gorge on pizza once I take my last reading for the night since my nighttime snacks don't typically affect my fasting glucose (and some of them are quite carby).
