Ugh, I got bit by a tick today sitting on my lawn. my leg is achy now hopefully I don't have any weird tick borne illnesses. Other than using an icepack on it, anything I should do?

Ugh I'm sorry. My last tick bite was 3 years ago and I'm still traumatized by it. They are disgusting!

Do you know what kind of tick it was? If it was a deer tick (the type that carry Lyme) and you removed it within 24 hours then the likelihood that you have lyme is extremely low. If it was attached for more than 24 hours you should go to the doctor. Also double check that the head is not still embedded in your leg. If you start to feel achy or flu-like symptoms within the next two weeks go to the doctor and let him or her know you were bit by a tick (again, better to know what type of tick since they all carry different diseases).
I work outside in the Northeast and encounter more than my fair share of ticks, they are nasty, disgusting little bugs.
