My 28 month-old is awesome at going to bed. He goes down easily by himself and entertains himself before falling asleep. However, last night and again tonight, it's taken him 2+ hours to fall asleep at night. He is still waking around the same time in the morning (this results in about 9-10 hours of sleep/night). I limit his nap to an hour (and actually limited it to 45 minutes today), but he always goes down within 5-10 minutes for nap and is difficult to wake. (He also gives tired signs at night, rubs eyes, etc.)

So, here are my options:
1. Wait it out. Give it a week and see if it's a fluke. (I feel so bad with him in there for two hours alone, but if it's a short phase, I can handle it).
2. Move bedtime back a bit (from 7:30 to 8 or 8:15)
3. Try skipping nap and seeing if that improves nighttime sleep (I hesitate because I do think he still needs a nap and because LO2 is on his way in a couple of months and I was really hoping for a couple minutes to myself during the day...but that's probably a pipe dream anyway).

Thanks!

ETA: Before the last two nights, it generally takes him 10-30 minutes to fall asleep at night on his own.
