Guys, this is the weirdest thing, but I'm having trouble finding baby mittens? Why is this? I've looked at Carter's, Target, Children's Place, and... nothing. It's getting chillier here, but not to the point that LO needs like, a snow suit. She's fine in a fleece hoodie or a jacket, but her little hands get so cold. Where can I find this item that should be available everywhere, in my opinion? I just want some cheap ones (because let's face it, they will probably get lost in no time) that will do the trick.

Do you have a Meijers? I found some there that came with a hat also, for 11$. I haven't looked around for them otherwise, but I'm surprised they are so hard to find!

I always find them at Babies R Us (just the little knit plain ones, like 2 pairs for $3, nothing fancy)

Etsy might have something? If you have Fred Meyer, they usually have good kids outerwear accessories.
Target here has the gerber cotton ones, like for newborns. Another alternative is LS shirts with the foldover cuffs, they make them even in bigger sizes. I sometimes just put my kids in a slightly oversized hoodie so the sleeves are a little long and they kind of keep their hands tucked in.

I have been given so many mittens and I won't use any of them (on my 6 month old) because our snowsuit has clever little ends on it that fold over on the feet and hands. I've tried and he dislikes mittens and they are hard to get on. The only ones I have used and had some success with were what I'd call autumn mittens: the ones that aren't very thick, just one layer of fleece.

@jennylynn: Not in New York, unfortunately, though growing up in Indiana we did. I think that's part of the problem - not having "superstores" in the city as much.

I got a carters hat and mitten set from Kohls. It's cute and does the trick. She doesn't love that she can't suck her thumb, but other than that, they do the job.

@prettylizy: So cute! My only reservation is that LO has so many hats that I hardly need another one, but it seems like lots of things come in a set, so I'll probably just have to deal. Hats on babies are pretty adorable, so I suppose it doesn't hurt to have options!

@meredithNYC: I know what you mean, we have so many hats but I couldn't find mittens alone either, so for the $10 or whatever it was, I just went for it.

I just got some at babies r us. No hat included. Set of two for $4.

@meredithNYC: With the polar fleece mittens (thin, not good enough for real winter) he seemed to really enjoy chewing and sucking on them.
Superstores are about the only good thing about our area. Ha!
