@jedeve: ooooh we are currently addicted to selling stuff. Here is where I've found the best places to sell things:

Baby clothes, toys, and small gear items (basically anything that won't be too expensive to ship): Hellobee Classifieds

Baby gear (larger): local facebook groups (but this depends on how good your local groups are)

Large items like furniture: Craigslist

anything else: ebay

We've had great success on ebay with gift cards and things that are collectible like Hallmark ornaments.

I also regularly bring women's items to my local consignment store and do REALLY well there. I'm running out of designer items to sell, though!

And I've brought baby clothes and gear items to two kid consignment sales and done very well there, as well.

You have to be really committed...!! The money is not really what's motivating me at this point... it's getting all this stuff out of my house! We have way, way, wayyyy too much STUFF. We've done huge donation drops after cleanouts, but there's still a lot that we kept because it's "useful" or "too nice" but we DON'T use it... in that case, it's great to sell!!

I've been selling stuff on eBay for awhile. It can be a hit or miss - there are some weeks where a ton of my stuff is selling, but then there are also lots of quiet downtime.

I've been cleaning/organizing the house and selling stuff that I just don't have a need for anymore. Smaller things that can be shipped easily and cheaply, or can fit into a flat rate envelope are the best (light articles of clothing, books, etc). I've even sold random stuff, like new Brita water filter refills, because we had a huge Costco pack and we don't use a Brita anymore

I'd say start looking around your home - I bet there's ton of stuff you can get rid of and make a few bucks doing so! It's a great way to declutter and get organized.

@pinkcupcake: I know!! The other day I looked up that hallmark ornament I mentioned and it had recently sold for $50 (right before Christmas)...!! Wagon Sr. wanted to wait til next Christmas to sell it, but I was like, Uhh that's a year away!! So we listed it someone did Buy it Now for $39...!!!!!! We were like jumping up and down. Haha.
