I'm considering cutting my long hair to shoulder-length to have one less thing to fuss over when baby arrives. I love having short hair, but the only thing is, I'm going to be a maid of honor for my best friend 1.5 months after the baby is due and I'd like to be able to do something really pretty and romantic with it (especially since the rest of me will not be looking so pretty and romantic!).
What would you do? Should PP hair loss be a factor here?

I'd leave it. Long hair is easier to put back and keep away from baby's tugging fingers! And PP hairloss didn't kick in until 3 months PP for me.

I say cut it shoulder length before baby is here so it'll be easier to manage when you have LO. Then after the wedding, cut it short since you'll be losing hair and it'll be all over your house.

I would keep it longer, but I find short hair to be so much more work to keep it looking decent.

Chop after the wedding. Long hair is such a PITA with pp hair loss. Not to mention a few months pp baby will pull on it!

I'd keep it long until after the wedding, and then get it cut during the PP hair loss period. I can't wait to get mine cut in a month - I'm 3 months PP and I am losing hair everywhere!

I would leave it long. I cut mine a little above my shoulders after LO was born and it drove me nuts that I couldn't get all of it into a ponytail.

SO HELPFUL, everyone, thank you!! Good point about being able to pull it into a ponytail to get it out of the way, and LO pulling on it if I can't get it up.

Chop it off after the wedding! I always cut mine around 2-3 mo pp when the pp hair loss hits.

I NEEDED to be able to put my hair in a ponytail postpartum (and still do now, 15 months later...). When my hair is shorter, I actually need to style it and that just wasn't going to happen -- quick and easy was key. The hair loss sucked but it wouldn't have been any better with shorter hair.

I chopped mine into a pixie 1 month before my son was born and every day I'm thankful I did! But I would not go shorter then ponytail length unless you're going all the way to pixie, I think everything between ponytail and pixie is more work then long hair.

@ineebee: my hair was super long with LO and I loved being able to shower and braid it up out of the way or put it up at the beginning. I chopped off 12 inches around 3 months pp and it was great. Leave it!
