I'm ordering a Gro Clock when I get home tonight, so no experience yet! I know @edelweiss has the Ok to Wake! clock, so maybe she can weigh in.

I have the Onaroo Ok to Wake Owl clock. I don't use it as a night light, but I definitely use it as a sleep/wake up clock. When on the base, it's a night light, but I gently tilt it on its base and after 30 minutes, it shuts off. When "owl goes to sleep" it means it's quiet time and no more talking/bed time. At 7:30 I have it set to turn green which means "wake up time". If my daughter happens to wake up before the owl turns green, she knows she can't leave the room until it's green. Took her about 2 days to get the hang of it.
