WOW! And this "The lawsuit also alleges children were sometimes slapped in the head during a diaper change if they soiled their diapers. It also says the daycare only allowed children to drink twice a day to cut down on diaper changes."
Thank God for the teacher that reported this - such a horrible situation

@blackbird: exactly what went through my head too
@Mamaof2: I was so glad to read the teacher took photos and quit the same day she reported. Good god.

so sad
glad that woman took photos though and turned it in, who knows how long that would have continued if it weren't caught!

This is not something I should have read the week my daughter started daycare

Wow, this is a Montessori daycare. Goes to show that expensive doesn't equal high quality care

@blackbird: Exactly my thoughts.
How could anyone do those things to BABIES??

That is awful. I doubt this place will stay in business...I just can't imagine continuing to send my child there after this even though that particular teacher is gone.

This is relatively local to me. This was the first of two bad Montessori stories that broke this summer locally. Daycare stories like this are heartbreaking. Clearly not all daycare/schools are created equally.

So, so sad. :((( I would be so distraught if that was my child. Just awful

The director didn't seem to have a pulse on what was happening at the center. Not cool.

Part of the "problem" with the branding of Monetssori is that anyone can use the name, they don't even have to implement Montessori principles. It's heartbreaking for these kids.

The saddest part of that article for me was how they said it explained their son's new behavior of hating diaper changes and hitting himself in the head .
Anyone ever hurts my child that way, I will make sure they regret it.

@ShootingStar: That's the part that made me so sad too! Poor little guy thinks its bad to go to the bathroom in his diaper!

I just can't even imagine. @blackbird: said it best in her initial post. Those were the exact two words that ran through my head too. Poor babies

I don't even think I can read it because I already feel ragey from the comments in this thread.
How do these people get into childcare?
grapefruit / 4923 posts
@.twist.: yeah, i don't think i'll read it either. from the comments, it sounds completely heartbreaking.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@.twist.: Same. I can't bring myself to read the article because I already want to cry at my desk based on the responses here. I just don't understand how people who are cruel get into childcare in the first place.

Puts it in perspective for me as I complain about an annoying commute for daycare and it's only week 1! I'll take a long commute out of my way to ensure dd is getting great care!!

This makes me so ragey, and so grateful for my daycare.
