If your toddler takes a class on the weekend, what is it? What is the time plus financial commitment? How involved is the parent?
Is it a national program? Do you like it and will you sign LO up for it again?

I'm trying to figure out a weekend class. Music, gym, dance or swim. Everything is so pricey.

We do music together - they offer classes on Saturdays too. Approx $175 for a 10 wk course (once a week, :45 mins each). I love it and just signed us up for our third session

Gymnastic through the city. $40 per semester. Each semester is about 16 weeks. Each class is 30 minutes and requires an adult to participate until age 4.

Swim lessons $45 a month and he goes with the teacher by himself. It is 30 minutes on Saturdays.
Tot crossfit class $0 because I created the class and 30 minutes.
We did Lil Kickers soccer program which I HIGHLY recommend but we didn't like the 2 hour each way drive to get to it. It was $120 for 10 50 min classes.

Gymnastics at a county gym. $160 for 8 classes, 45 mins. Parent required to participate for the preschooler class. We won't be doing it again, it's not structured enough for me to feel like it's worth the money, a lot of free play time on the equipment and DS1 just runs around. Maybe if he felt peer pressure to preform I would think it was more worth it haha

@brownie: I just checked out the lil' kickers website and they have a location in my city! I might check it out - thanks!
I haven't enrolled my kids into anything yet, but N is 3 now so it's probably time.

@locavore_mama: I've been looking for soccer for J! but the only programs I've found are for 3+ so we may have to wait a year. I did find a local gymnastics class, but it's weeknights, which don't work with DH working nights and me taking night classes.
Swim lessons at the local Y start up in April for new session and I am hoping they have a weekend option! Because we're members, lessons for 6 weeks are only $40.
Lastly, the other class I have been wanting him to enroll in is a educational music class for <4 year olds . It looks really fun! But the price tag is a little steep - $180 for 10 weeks.

We do a dance class on Sundays at a local place for $35/month. DH takes her and he dances around with her but he also sits in the back now that she is more confidant. She loves it. We love it.

@Mrs. High Heels: From what we did, they are great. My son was just over 2 years old and by the end of 20 weeks, he was dribbling the ball. And they never taught that!

@Mrs. Pen: oh, that's a bummer!!! The one I found starts at 2. So M could technically participate in the spring season. Only $11/day!

Ballet, Sat am 9:30. Not too early, not too late. $200/semester. They have a live pianist do the music.

@Mrs. Pen: we have been thinking about doing music starting in april--but the cost is kind of steep too! Is yours music together? Ours is $165 for 9 weeks. I am loosely earmarking some christmas money for that rather than another toy or piece of clothing. Could you do that with christmas or birthday gifts?

B does swimming $90 a month, tumbling $266 for 4 months, soccer $120 for 3 months.

@locavore_mama: all the fun stuff starts at three! Next summer he can do T-ball, soccer, etc- it will be so fun!
@MamaCate: Yes! It is music together about 25 minutes away from us. We do have some birthday money of his we could use for it... but I feel bad spending it, I feel I should be saving it for him! Maybe I'll think about picking up an extra shift here or there and use that money for it

@Mrs. Pen: a friend of mine did it with her LO (now 4) and she raved about it. I am still not completely convinced so I think I am going to look a little more before we commit.

We do Music Together once a week. N really seems to enjoy it. I'm thinking of signing him up for a Gymboree class as well...

We started soccer the weekend she turned 3. It's a national program, low commitment-2 months, once a week $100 including a jersey. I like that it was only a short time period bc it's fun and all but discovered it's not really her thing. She loves to run though!! I already signed her up for teeball in the same program next month so she can do a little bit of that. But likely no more organized team sports for awhile after that. So next up music and more swim classes.
