BIL is turning 40 in December. One of my ideas is a day + overnight trip to Toronto. We're only 1.5 hours away on the expressway. I'm sure I can find a decent deal for one night in a hotel.
Anyway, any ideas for some fun adult activities in/around Toronto worthy of a 40th celebration? *Possibly* including a toddler for some portion of it?
P.S. We've all been to TO so nothing touristy please.

CN Tower, Dinner Theatre, there are several comedy clubs (Second City for one)...Toronto.ca will show you City run events going on during the timeframe you're looking for

Second City would be great, plus there are a lot of great restaurants nearby.
What does your BIL like? There are so many things to do, but it depends on what he is into.

Have you looked through torontolife.com? There are some great ideas there.

Dinner theatre is like...you sit down and have dinner and there's a show at the same time. mysteriouslyyours.com is one - interactive fun

I had a blast last time I was a second city, it was all improv and hysterical.
Museum Tavern for drinks is always great. Ruby Watchco for dinner never disapoints. Go to La Societe for breakfast the next day.... best breakfast I've ever had

There are tons of stage shows... From broadway type stuff to smaller local productions.
If your BIL is into baseball or basketball, maybe you could time it with a night a team he is interested will be in town. Hockey will likely be extremely $$$$$.

What about horse racing? That is something you can bring your LO to as well. You can eat a nice brunch at Woodbine Race track while you watch and (optionally) wager.

I think shopping and eating out are the most fun! Along queen st and along bloor st are great places for both. At night perhaps try a theatre/musical show or comedy club or basic night at the movies?
