Do you mean cloth or disposable? I have no experience, just passing along advice I've been given. I've heard the Gerber cloth training pants are as good as more expensive ones and to skip pull-up type ones altogether.

@bunnylove08: A number of friends have told me that disposables prolonged the agony because the kids never really got the difference between a diaper and a pull-up. But, obviously that's not everyone's experience because they're still on the market.

I use both. The main reason is sometimes, we're just not going to be sure we can get to the toilet on time, like on days when we have soccer and the toilet is really far away from the field.

As for actual training, think of it in two parts, training to use the toilet and training to be able to tell that they have to go before they do.

@bunnylove08: I use both the white and printed Gerber pants from WalMart. At first I was really careful about keeping them separate from other clothes, but I've gotten into a routine where I scrape/flush/rinse the pants with poop on them and just make sure the ones with pee are dry-ish before putting them in the laundry pile.

I do everything in the white wash load with bleach, it's worked out really well for us.
