We're driving my 07 Jeep Liberty to Florida in one month. "We" is DH, me, LO (will be 5.5 months), and our 70 lb labrador.

I've been doing a lot of carseat research lately, and one thing I keep coming across, regarding general child car safety, is to eliminate all projectiles from the vehicle, as even the smallest thing, if moving at a high speed, can cause serious damage to the baby (or us). So...I guess a 70 lb dog qualifies for an unsafe projectile, eh? She usually rides in the cargo area, but we don't have a pet barrier between the backseat and the cargo section. The ones I've seen are either really expensive or seem flimsy. Here are two I'm entertaining:

The first one seems safer, because it attaches to the headrests. The second one is just tension-rods. But it seems like both are not really secure enough to not worry about them unattaching and projectiling, during an accident!

I'm getting very paranoid, and I don't know what to do. A crate won't fit in the back, so that's out. Please help me!
