Next week, DH and I are traveling with DS. He will turn 6 months the day we get back. We've taken several long car rides with him, but have never flown with him. Any tips on how to make a flight easier with a LO? It's a super short flight, just over an hour. We plan on checking our carseat/base. We're unsure if we want to bring our stroller or just wear him in the airport. Thankfully my parents (who we are visiting) will have a PnP for him.
Any tips or advice are MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

we flew for the first time with ds at 8 months and he did really well! (1/5-2 hour flights)
we bought him a few new toys, had snacks for him, but he fell asleep on the way up (nursing) and didn't wake until descend. which was short enough to keep him occupied.
there were 18 infants of all ages on the flight to our destination and they ALL did really well. i think the key was timing (10am flight).
we brought our stroller (gate checked) and brought our beco (never used it)... it was nice to sit him in the stroller while we ate bfast etc.

I flew with my daughter at 8.5 months and it was a lot easier than I thought. The best advice I can give is "less is more". It's a lot to lug the extra stuff through the airport in addition to your LO. So bring a binky, toy or two, a bottle, etc but that short of a flight will go quickly.
Getting through security wasn't bad. We used a stroller but a carrier would have been fine as well. I think it will be even easier for you as they are less mobile at 6 months. So pack (and check) as much as you can and have fun. I was surprised how easy it was.

How was it gate checking your stroller? I'm afraid that the airline (Southwest) will damage it. We only have our nice one so I don't want it ruined! But, we don't wear him often, so I'm afraid he will get fussy in it.
It's a 10 am flight, so it's good to hear that's a great time to fly with a LO.
