Is anyone else watching this on Lifetime. It has turned out to be fascinating and a real look at lives after cheating.
My husband even sat down and watched part of it with me last night.

Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist, but I think it's all a scam for more $$$. No one has ever seen or heard of this alleged Emily Goodhand chick, and T and D are terrible actors. No pics of her have ever surfaced, even after she supposedly sold her story to Us Weekly. I feel like they've covered every other topic and are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Even if it actually did happen, what a horrible and shameless thing to put their four kids through. "Hey guys, we're gonna film the breakdown of our family for money! Yay! $$$"

@grizz: I don't know too much about the specifics but after watching a little of it on tv I totally thought it was fake! So did dh. Totally agree with you on the last part...In the part wee saw se was flipping out about how much D shared. And dh just thought she was really upset that D's comments would take attention off of T.

I watched the first two episodes ondemand so far. I find it fascinating too. Both of them look HORRIFIC though.....I feel bad for her, but I would definitely not film something like that personally, or put my kids through it!

I recorded the first two episodes to watch tonight. There's another real - life cheating "story line" on reality TV involving one of the members of Gospel duo Mary Mary. This kind of stuff is hard to watch.

@grizz: ugh, now that I read more about it, it may be made up. If so, they are fabulous actors. It is so heartbreaking for them to share there struggle on TV while having 4 children. It hardly seems that they are protecting there children.

@babynumber1: Haven't seen it but heard about it on talk radio and the one thing they said was that it must be true because they are awful actors and no way could they pull this off if it wasn't!
Plus - he's a known cheater - I have no doubts its true
Its is awful that they would broadcast it though - poor kids!!!!

@babynumber1: I just researched and saw the same stuff (about it being made up). If it is....I feel bad for them. That's totally pathetic to try and market off of this kind of stuff and to put their families through that! Also, why do they look so terrible? It really LOOKS like they've been though something!!

I saw one of the episodes a few weeks ago, and I felt terrible for her. I'm not even a fan of hers, but she looked so tired and unhealthy and he does not seem trustworthy at all. I felt sad for the kids.

I've been watching it. I don't know if it's all fake, there's something about him that makes me have no doubt that it's real and it would be really, really horrible if they went through all of this and put their kids and friends through it all just to make money. If it is real then I feel horrible for her, I find it heartbreaking to watch.

I have been watching. I don't think the cheating is fake, but I think it's awful that they are filming all of this and I think their kids will need so much therapy to ever be functioning adults.
He seems like a total sleeze bag. When she actually is being real and not putting on her terrible acting skills, like when they were by the pool with the therapist, you can see her anger come out and I think it is such a dirt bag cop out that he "gets a migraine" and can't handle hearing it. Yes, you should feel like a complete loser that you did that while she was at the kids' Christmas show. You should cry and hate yourself. And then you should work on your marriage and try to fix yourself for your family.
ETA: I'm sure she'll write a book about it, too, which I am actually ok with, but the TV show is such an awful way to profit. However, I do watch, so I'm obviously not helping

I'm not watching the show, but I admit that I have been a Tori fan. I always felt like she really tries to be a good mom. That being said, I cant' believe she is doing this show. It really does just seem like a quick way to make some money.
We actually have the same ped so I saw Tori, Dean, and all their kids (+ nanny) at the doctor's office a couple months ago. It was after the cheating news came out and she seemed pretty exhausted.

He cheated on his first wife with Tori, so I have no doubts that it's true. His first wife wrote a book about it.

@mrs. tictactoe: That scene at the pool pissed me off too. He is such a manipulator. She can't voice her opinions because it will "hurt" him too much.
I wonder how broke they really are... she has a show coming out soon with Jennie Garth on ABC family.

@babynumber1: manipulator is definitely the right word! I don't think they are broke, I just think they need to come up with ways to make money and maintain their lifestyle.

@grizz: Are you still watching? I've watched the first 4 episodes (I think?). The last one I watched was the one where he made her sushi and they had dinner by the fireplace. Do you still think it's fake? I can't tell!!
papaya / 10473 posts
@lawbee11: You know, I can't tell anymore. I wonder if it actually happened, but the timeline they're presenting isn't real since nobody has seen or heard of this Emily Goodhand person. Like, maybe they're capitalizing on a past event?

B/c of this thread I watched a few episodes when they were on one day! I love me some crazies! I did feel bad for her when Dean was gone and she had to take care of all the kids by herself.
I googled this and there are a ton of rumors out there that they did fake this whole thing for TV. Why on earth would you fake cheating and heartbreak, esp when there's children involved?! Are they even making that much off of this?! I don't really think people care much about them...
papaya / 10473 posts
@snowjewelz: I didn't buy the bit where she was taking care of the kids all by herself. If you've seen paparazzi pics, they employ SEVERAL nannies, and usually have more than one working at a time.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@snowjewelz: She has two nannies--one to help with the kids and one to do housework.

I don't know if it is real or fake and I don't think THAT part matters anymore because the true issue is that they are making such a huge, public hoopla about their sex life and infidelities. It hurts no one but their poor babies! What is wrong with these parents? They are really dragging their kids through the mud. It is abuse in a very *special* way, in my opinion.
papaya / 10473 posts
@CupQuakeWalk: Yes, yes, yes. I can't watch the scenes with the kids. It is incredibly exploitative.
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
@CupQuakeWalk: Ugh it's so awful. I really shouldn't watch and give them ratings, but I can't help myself!
I don't think the affair is fake, but I do think they paid that woman a lot of money to keep her mouth shut and disappear. They don't want her blabbing and they want to be the ones profiting off of this, so they paid her off and made her sign something, I bet.
When Tori talks about having to take care of the kids by herself I want to throw something at the TV. Does she really think people believe that? Does SHE really believe that?? She might. I think she's on pills...
persimmon / 1396 posts
@mrs. tictactoe: I think that they paid her off to stay quiet also. It would detract from the show. I still think that it is fascinating and that he is a huge douchebag.
This is a horrible, horrible thing to put your children through. You would think that she would protect them instead of display them like this.

I just wanted to chime in and say that the Land of Nod plug on this week's episode was shameful.

I was flipping through channels the other day and caught a piece of it. I wasn't as surprised to see how they are obviously doing this for the ratings and profit. I WAS surprised to see that her husband is the host of Chopped Canada! Mind = blown.
