@yoursilverlining: @jmarionsmith: Glad to hear it! Now if we could only get rid of Trump indefinitely...

What Trump says is not ok because a) it perpetuates the rampant rape culture that is somehow still acceptable in this country and b) Trump isn't just some guy, he's in the running to become the leader of one of the most powerful nations in the world. Our children should not have to live in a world where this kind of talk and the behavior that it defends is acceptable. I'd be absolutely HORRIFIED if I found out that my son was engaging in talk like this. I intend to raise my son to understand that a person's body is their own, and he has no right to touch it, grab it, or even talk about it without their permission - MALE OR FEMALE. It's not ok. What if the tables were turned? What if it was tape of Hillary talking about going around grabbing men's penises? Could you imagine the Republican outrage?!

Also, is anyone else amused/disgusted by all these Republicans who are making statements that women deserve better and deserve respect. The same Republicans who, at every turn, are trying to deny women the rights to their own bodies. It's laughable to me, the hypocrisy.

So the today show essentially cans billy bush for laughing at "locker room talk" but 90% of trump supporters give A pass to the actual "sayer" and think he should lead this country. I'm just going to say that's...deplorable.

I think this tee from @wireandhoney aka RAH sums up my feelings on this all...

So many Republican men have said they cannot defend what Trump said yet many female surrogates are trying to...

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: hahaha, that's a new one! Beyonce isn't running for President. Though maybe she should be. I'd rather see Beyonce for President!

Although there is a grain of truth to that. If we as a society are willing to love on a book about a sex obsessed sadist, or a show where every character gets brutalized in some way, maybe Mr. Tabloid Fodder for President is the logical next step

Did everyone see the latest update to this? Two women came forward to the New York Times to tell their stories of how Donald Trump sexually assaulted them.

From the comments section on the NY times story : "I'm an 18 year old college freshman, and in February I attend the Republican debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire with my AP Government and Politics class. I went up to the stage during a commercial break and shook hands with several candidates. When I put my hand out to Trump, in a fashion that very clearly intended a handshake, he reached past my hand and touched my cheek, saying, "So beautiful." It was disturbing and inappropriate, especially since I was obviously a student (I was surrounded by a group of my peers and do not look particularly old for my age). I was in shock and I didn't say anything, but I regret not standing up to him for that small but unacceptable act."

The confirmation that he DID act the way he described in the Billy Bush tape is unsurprising but I am so so so disgusted. I can only hope for the sake of this country that he loses in an absolute landslide AND takes out the Republican majorities in the Senate and House with him. We cannot let the party that stoked the fear and rage that Trump has been tapping throughout his candidacy for years get by unscathed.

This one came out last week and I think she's one of the women mentioned in the previously linked articles.

"Harth says that she worried about being raped by a man who weighed twice as much as she did, and at one point she vomited as a defense mechanism."

Jezebel puts the count at at least 9 women and counting, and says they'll keep updating this post with all the stories (someone else is apparently going on the Today Show this morning...) http://jezebel.com/a-list-of-women-who-have-accused-donald-trump-of-sexual-1787737533

I mean, shouldn't this disqualify him? I realize he's not actually been found GUILTY, but COME ON.

I hate this election so much. I HATE that there are people defending him like, it's not that big a deal, what about Bill Clinton (who, last I checked, is not running for president)? What is this saying to impressionable teenagers, boys and girls? I hate it.

@littlebug: sadly, no, he's innocent until proven guilty. There's at least one current criminal case (child rape...) but it's well past the statute of limitations and may get tossed by the court, and in any case what can you prove years later? Hopefully we voters can deep-six his candidacy, and then the courts can deal with him.

@Mama Bird: Oh, I know, legally he can't be disqualified. But...ugh.

I just keep thinking HOW can so many people just turn their head and ignore this behavior? Has society really fallen this far?

He's making a speech right now. Re: the People magazine writer he said, "Take a look at her. Take a look at her words. I don't think so." Of course he made it about her appearance 🙄

@littlebug: Ugh, right? I watch CNN and they have a couple Trump supporters on their panels and it's so hard listening to them justify why they continue to support him. "He apologized, let's move on!" "These are allegations and there's no proof, so let's move on!" "Can we PLEASE focus on the issues? Like Immigration and Clinton's e-mails??"

@Adira: The Trump supporters are ridiculous. I was just watching a supporter deny that Trump said "look at her". Instead she claimed he only said "Look at her words". The host had to step in and say "No, he actually did say 'Look at her'". Then the Trump supporter pivots to Bill Clinton... giant eyeroll.

@littlebug: well Clinton was elected... Paula Jones scandal happened before he was in office. I agree any other election Trump would be dead in the water. He's set the bar so low with all the divisive rhetoric that our presidents are not even held to a higher moral standard. I remember John McCain having to defend his second marriage. Trump is on his third. Modern times.

eta: Justice Thomas was appointed to the Supreme Court with a sex scandal. It's not a disqualifier, but this seems to be a different beast altogether.
