Looking forward to having a place to get advice/vent/share experiences. This will be cycle 7 for us

Hi all, I will try to jump back in, I've sort of been overwhelmed/disappointed lately and have a hard time replying to threads, etc. I'm on the tail end of cycle 9 now, feeling like I will be moving on to cycle 10 after a cycle length of about 22 days, which is pretty short for me.

Hi girls! I like having a thread that us separate from the poas thread. @owlteach: I'm at the tail end of my ninth cycle too! Sitting on the couch, on valentines day, with a giant glass of wine in my hand! I drink till its pink.
apricot / 390 posts
@MrsMcD: Yeah, I went and got a progesterone test today because my doctor wants me to try for four more cycles, 3 after this one, unless we can't confirm ovulation before we look at surgery to correct the endo. Shes pretty sure that I didn't ovulate last cycle but we weren't testing. So, we ate mexican food and came home and crashed. Obviously getting a blood draw is not physically taxing, but I am so emotionally exhausted from it all and am feeling pretty hopeless. I need to get out of this funk!
eta...i drink more now that I am looking for pink than I ever did in the past

I think we all "know" each other.. but here are my stats:
Age: 35
TTC cycle: 7
Any LO's: Yes, 21 month old son
Testing done: CD3, CD21 testing both fine. I'm getting HSG on Monday.
Fun fact: I have two adorable dogs Pedro (chihuahua) and Pomeranian (Templeton)

@MrsMcD: I'm a firm believer in drink till it's pink. Hope you had a great valentines day!
@owlteach: are you using OB/Gyn or RE?
pear / 1548 posts
Age: 25
TTC cycle: 12
Any LO's: Just our fur baby!
Testing done: None yet, but I'm going to make an appointment soon to see what's going on..
Fun fact: I love to bake but don't do it often because DH and I end up eating everything! No self control here!

@littlek: thanks for starting this, I am copying your get to know you
Age: 32
TTC cycle: since last summer
Any LO's: 2 yo daughter
Testing done: um, everything? all the blood tests many times, more ultrasounds than I'd like to count, HSG, hysteroscopy, two RPL panels. we worked with an RE for LO#1 and again now but I recently had my 4th chemical pregnancy so we continue to try new things.
Fun fact: I used all my willpower to only watch the first episode of House of Cards yesterday . . . but yikes that was a shocker! (clearly I have a lack of fun facts)
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@bhbee: I have not watched house of cards. Is it good? I need something to distract me until Game of Thrones returns.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@owlteach: TTC definitely drives me to drink too! no matter what I have done (tests or treatment or whatever) I always find an RE visit taxing. at a minimum I usually make a stop at Starbucks afterward for a treat. it's just so hard to think about the implications of everything.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@littlek: I thought season 1 was addictive, and I don't typically watch those type of shows (my DH loves political drama so he was into it, I just liked Kevin Spacey). this is a good time to try it because you have two complete seasons at your disposal!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Boopers: I have the baking problem too, except my DH tends to forgot about food so I will end up eating 75% myself! not good!

@littlek: an obgyn that specializes in infertility...were kind of in the middle of nowhere, so an re is at least 1.5 hours away...with a good one closer to 4 hours away. We're going to work with her through the next 6-8 months and then re-evaluate.

Hi girls
I'm at the end of my 7th cycle ttc. Tried Clomid for the first time so who knows? Maybe a bfp. If not, I do have an appointment in a week, so I'll ask for a referral to a RE at that point.

Jumping into another thread- having trouble now remembering which post was which, guess I'll make it worse.
Age 33
TTC #1, on 11th cycle. Thankfully my cycles are short- O on CD14-15, 10-12 day LP.
Currently CD10.
Testing done- labs on CD3 which were great. My doc says we have no risk factors for IF, and it's combo of bad timing, stress, and bad luck.
Things I have tried: temping, OPKs (stopped because they stress me out and I O consistently), acupuncture (stopped due to migraines), preseed, circle and bloom meditations. I started metformin and metanyx about 6 weeks ago.
Special challenges- DH works 1.5 hours away, so we don't see each other during the week without extra driving. Major external stresses for both of us. I don't get paid maternity leave, so I was trying to time things, but have given up on that.
What I'm doing differently this cycle: trying to focus on other things and not let TTC be so consuming. I am trying to just BD as much as possible during FW (going to be really hard this month due to work schedules) and expect AF to come.
What I'm working on besides TTC: getting my house organized/decluttering, working out (kettlebell and exercise bike until it warms up enough to run outside), and watching the Olympics.
Fun fact: I play guitar.

@owlteach: this sounds just like me... I'm going in on the 27th for laparoscopy
nectarine / 2808 posts
@bhbee: I drink more coffee now that I know I shouldn't than ever before!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@littlek: hopefully BFP buddies soon
Age: 34 (35 next month)
TTC cycle: 7
Any LO's: Yes, 27 month old girl
Testing done: CD3 and CD21 ordered (currently CD5)
Fun fact: I have a love-hate relationship with shoes. I LOVE all the beautiful shoes out there but I wear size 4.5 in women (or 1.5 youth) which limits a lot of the shoes available to me...so I hate shopping for shoes bc they never fit and I don't have many options.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@sandy: I have the opposite but same problem- I wear a size 11. They just don't make as many options in my size. And when they do, they just don't look as cute as the did in a size 8.

I have a new theory that others might find helpful. I read a study about MTHFR deficiency. It is fairly common, and people can have a deficiency in the enzyme that activates folic acid. It can cause a number of problems including infertility, miscarriages, migraines, depression, anxiety, eczema, and a bunch of other things. I talked to my doctor and started metanx for it about 6 weeks ago. It is basically a supplement with the active form of folic acid and no serious side effects. I am feeling better. My mood is better, my eczema has cleared up, and I didn't have my typical PMS symptoms (good except it had me convinced I was pregnant). This makes me think I do have some form of the deficiency, which might be why I am on cycle 11. DH and I have no other risk factors for IF. I am really hoping that this is the fix, and I hope this can help someone else.

@sandy: Wow, tiny feet. My mom has tiny feet too. I wear a size 7 which I feel like EVERYONE wears and I can never find cute shoes on sale.

@AmeliaBedilia: That is really interesting! Was it eczema that tipped you off?
apricot / 390 posts
@CupQuakeWalk: I hope this is the change that you need
My OB's office just called to say that the progesterone confirmed ovulation this last cycle, but I don't have much hope at all for this cycle because dh and I work opposite schedules and I was feeling really down and wasn't willing to wake up at 3 am around ovulation.
We just got back from an awesome booze filled weekend with some of our good friends at my uncle's cabin. We played in the snow, went sledding in the dark and had some pretty epic Pictionary show downs! It was just what I needed
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@owlteach: sounds like a fun time!
Just got back from HSG. Tubes all clear.

@littlek: Would you be annoyed if I started a TTC- 12 month or more thread? I'm just curious to see how many there are of us are out there. If you think it will take away from your thread, I don't want to do it. I wanted to ask you first.
