TTC after loss

@catlady: oooh, all my FX for you this cycle! two baby birthdays in the same month would be dreamy. and ugh re: people who have no business being pregnant. sometimes I feel like it would definitely work if I got fired from my job and evicted from my apartment

@LibbyLou: oh lady, that is rough news about the tube. I'm glad you finally have an explanation, though. sorry for the beginners-level question, but if you're doing IVF, does the blockage not even matter?

@Shantuck: ugh that's so frustrating. I never had any followup after my d&c, so no advice unfortunately. Can you start clomid on Monday if your hcg levels have dropped?

  3. LibbyLou

    kiwi / 739 posts

@LCTBQE: no that's a good question! Up to now we have only been doing Clomid with TI. IVF will most likely be our only option going forward. How are you doing?

@LibbyLou: doing okay, thanks pretty queasy, anxiety has gone down to maybe a 9/10. My next scan is at 10.5 weeks (in like 9 days) and I feel like that's going to be the big one regarding viability I can't help it but I'm starting to feel hopeful, which is scary instead of exciting.

@Shantuck: I thought anything under 5 was considered negative? And especially since AF arrived, is think you should be fine.

@LibbyLou: are they monitoring you? Maybe a TI and Clomid/femara cycle will work if you O from the left.

I thought I posted a few times recently, but apparently I've just been reading without responding, oops!

I started Clomid again this cycle, and holy headaches. Glad to be back at it, and I really really hope it works.

Well I took another test today and it's still super faint / squinter. If it's not darker tomorrow I'll know this is yet another chemical.

@winniebee: thank you. I need it! Good luck to you too. Have you asked for a beta?

  9. winniebee

@Crystal: if the test is still positive Monday I will ask for betas!

@winniebee: thinking of you and wishing you the best possible outcome. Did you decide to start Prometrium? Your P4 number looks really good. My day 21 number was 9.8 so I take it after ovulation now. Best wishes!

@Crystal: sorry for the Clomid headaches but I hope this cycle is a great one!

@LCTBQE: you hav every right to feel hopeful. Each pregnancy is unique. I know what it's like to feel so guarded but do try to think positively as well. I wish you all the best at your upcoming scan.

I'm at a standstill. Ended up ovulating before my hysteroscopy so this cycle was a bust. My scope and SHG (similar to HSG) were clear. It looks like O week is when my DD and I are in Florida (without DH) next month. I think a couple months off are not a bad thing though. I was starting to get a bit anxious.

@Shantuck: I had my betas monitored for 6 weeks back in the fall after my mc. It took forever for them to go down. However my final beta results was reported as "<5HCG" and my doctor said that means "negative". He said lots of women have detectable amounts of HCG in their blood at all times so anything under 5 in the labs here are negative. I was discharged at that point and didn't need any more follow up. Maybe you just always have a little hcg in your system?

No period but still the faintest of faint squinters. Looks like this won't work out, either.

@Zbug: getting day 3 labs this cycle. Maybe just giving up. But I know I probably won't.

    @winniebee: you recently weaned, right?

  18. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@winniebee: are you doing hysteroscopy and HSG as well? I feel like giving up at times too but I'm pushing through now that I'm actually getting testing done. You seem to get pregnant easily, so they just need to figure out how to get it to stick. I know it's frustrating but hang in there.

  19. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@Zbug: yeah super recently. We were down to one time for the past month and weaned as of a week ago, except a few early morning times and I don't think I have milk left . So, basically yes. But not this whole cycle. My doctor didn't think that was the problem but I thought it was....but we tried anyways because WHO gets pregnant every single month? Me.

  20. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@delight: my ob thought do the bloodwork and then maybe check my lining via ultrasound this cycle too....

  21. Zbug

    persimmon / 1355 posts

@winniebee: obviously, lots of people have successful pregnancies while BFing, but I just think it's harder for others. I'm not sure if nursing contributed to my mmc, but it certainly was easier for me to become pregnant after weaning. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

@winniebee: I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself, the double hormonal whammy of weaning and chemical pregnancy is really hard to deal with. I just weaned for the same reason.

  28. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@catlady: thanks....we weren't nursing much anymore anyways, but I have been really emotional and feeling very attached to my boys lately. I didn't really think about that as a cause, but it probably is.

@winniebee: Hugs. I'm sorry you are going through this... again.

I went back for another beta hcg test this morning to see if the hcg has disappeared from my system. My OB/GYN was satisfied with the less than 5 value but my RE wants it at zero before I start any sort of fertility meds. I guess I get it. I don't want to spend all my insurance limit on treatments doomed from the start due to wonky hormone levels. I'll definitely be trying naturally if this doesn't end up being a Clomid/IUI cycle. My acupuncturist told me on Saturday to drink lots of lemon water and mint tea to help process the hormones. Might be hokey but of course I followed her instructions. Should hear back from the RE's office soon.

    nectarine / 2461 posts

@winniebee: said this on your other thread, but this is so incredibly sad and frustrating--I'm so sorry. I hope that with the testing it becomes apparent quickly what is going on. and hope too that if it is nursing, that it resolves itself now that you're done.

@Shantuck: are you kidding me? that is beyond annoying and infuriating. well, I wish you luck (and maybe fun?) in trying regular-style this month

@delight: thank you for saying that

@catlady: @Nutella: are you two into the tww yet? PS nutella, NYC is already half melted--giant slush puddle

Thanks for the support ladies! Sometimes I feel silly for posting here and on other loss boards, because so many of you have had "real" losses. The loss of a full term baby, the loss of a baby late in pregnancy, recurrent miscarriages after 6 weeks, etc. And I've only ever had early losses. I feel really lucky in so many ways, but loss after loss after loss, no matter how early, really can take a toll on you. So, thank you for the kind words.

    grapefruit / 4988 posts

    @Shantuck: That stinks.

@LCTBQE: Yes, I am! I think I am somewhere around 5 dpo. Will be testing on Sunday (hopefully I can hold myself off until then). I'm already symptom spotting like a crazy person.

    clementine / 777 posts

@winniebee: Early losses are still traumatic. @LCTBQE: and I just had a discussion about this on another board. I am as guilty of this as anyone (1 chemical pregnancy) but there is no need to compare your experience to someone else's and diminish what you've been through. Yes, the experience may vary - the physical toll, etc -- a loss is a loss. I've been following your story and my heart hurts for you.

Thanks all. I'm doing ok... just being dramatic. After a year of TTC on my own, what's another month?
