Do you plan on getting your tubes tied? If so, after how many kids?
Do you plan on getting your tubes tied? If so, after how many kids?

I won't be, but my SIL did. She had a child from when she was 18 (he was 12 at the time) and then she and BIL had Logan (now 3). Right after she had him, they tied her tubes through her belly button somehow (weird!).
However, 3 years later she regrets it. So I'm not sure! Maybe if say, baby #3 was a c-sec, I'd consider it. Hard to know til you're there!

I won't. DH is thinking about it after baby #3. We shall see though! I think it's unnatural and don't like the idea of having anything snipped or tied.

i don't know. it might be nice and convenient.....but i'm definitely not sure.... if so, probably after my 3rd (not sure if we're going for 3 - one of those, if it happens it happens, if not, we're fine with our 2)... but we had so much trouble with our first (2) that i don't think it'll be an issue to have to do anything lol.

Nope. I always think what if something happens to DH and I remarry and want to have more kids? I don't want to do anything permanent like that.

Nope. Being 40, it's probably not worth it for me. If we accidentally had another kid, we'd be ok

No. Hubby will eventually be the one dealing with permanent birth control because it's less invasive, but we'll wait a while for that.

If I ended up needing c-sections, I would do it with baby #3, if not, DH will have the big snip after baby #3.

I dont think I could do it, I dont have a good reason why its just not something I want to do

I think the permanence freaks me out. DH and I have talked about whether or not either of us would get snipped. Neither of us feel comfortable with it right now.
I just feel like it's a massive decision being so permanent.
While the not having to worry is night, I think I would opt for Norplant or something long-term over something permanent.

It's something we've talked about, especially since I'll likely get a c-section again for future pregnancies. Something about it still freaks me out, though, maybe because it's so permanent.

It’s something I’ve thought about doing after LO arrives since right now I never, ever want to be pregnant again and it would be super easy for them to go in and tie my tubes while I’m already in the hospital…but a little part of me is worried that in a few years I will really want to have another child.
Either way, I’m going back on semi-permanent birth control after LO, and in a few years will reevaluate. If we have another child, I would definitely get it done at that point as we want no more than 2 kids.

I think instead we'll probably have DH get a vasectomy after we're done having kids. We've discussed it, and he seems ok with it.

My mom had her tubes tied after I was born but I doubt I will have mine done.

No. Things that are too permanent are scary. What if I change my mind?..

My mom did this after she had my brothers (#3 and #4)--she was pretty young at 26, but she had 4 kids and that was enough.
I won't. The permanence scares me. I wouldn't want DH to get a vasectomy either. We only want 2 children, but we want to reserve the right to change our minds

I just plan to have an IUD and if we end up wanting something more permanent after the kids are older then it will be my husband getting snipped. All my friends who are done having kids had their husbands get a vasectomy.

my mom had her tubes tied and told me to do it too since olive was originally supposed to be a scheduled c section.
i always say i may need to have another child for stem cells so i'm not going to do anything permanent!
