When did your LO start tummy time? Did you mostly use a blanket or special play mat?

I started tummy time, probably, at 3 weeks. LO HATED it, though, and I could only do it a few seconds at a time, here and there, and slowly she tolerated it enough to go minutes at a time. I just plopped her on a receiving blanket on our floor or used the nursing pillow as leverage.

It was probably about a month after he was born, and he hated it! He just laid on a blanket on the floor and I would lay in front of him to help him out and try to keep him entertained. He never really liked it though, and wouldn't last very long.

with charlie we started before he was a month. olive is a month and a half and we haven't done tummy time yet because she has a huge umbilical hernia and i'm scared to put her on her tummy. she's never going to roll over!

My son and I both hated tummy time, until I realized I could sit on the floor and put my son on the couch...we have a sectional with a chaise and it was big enough that he could sprawl out on. I also wouldn't lay him flat to begin with, I'd prop him up on the Boppy. We started way late with it because he hated it so much, probably consistently around 3 months.

My LO always hated tummy time so I didn't bother forcing her to do it. Eventually she wanted to learn how to crawl, around 4 months, so would flip over to do her own tummy time until she worked out how to crawl at 5 months.

We started at about 3 weeks too. Never liked it and it would last 2 minutes, but I would still do it.

She's been having tummy time sice 2 weeks, she loves it at first then gets tired of it. We just use a blanket, sometimes her boppy. At work I let her sleep on her tummy on my lap, she loves that!

We started at about 3-4 weeks. She HATED it. We used a mat and a tummy time pillow but I don't think it really matters where as long as your LO gets time to practice.

I thought my lo was the only one who hates tummy time! I started after she was a month old, I just leave her until she fusses or spits up. I usually put her on the activity mat.

We started right away...around one week? But I think my baby is the only baby ever who loved tummy time. Once he could flip over he never spent a minute on his back.

3 wkls I think. She hates it still at 3 months. I put her on the boppy and she likes it.LOL She can see stuff, nosy girl!
I read babies on your chest counts as tummy time. She likes it like that when I slump down on the sofa with her on me.

We started around 8 weeks and he hated it. We never used a special mat or pillow, just a blanket on the floor and a rolled up blanket positioned under his chest. He still hates tummy time, which is probably why he still isn't crawling at 9 months old.

Probably after a couple weeks, I was such a baby holder so she was almost never put down for the first week or so... She always loved laying on her belly, even when she was just under a month old she would manage to roll herself to her belly at night to sleep like that.

We started it a few days after she was born. My lactation consultant recommended we did so to build the muscle strength and help us both with nursing. She hated it at first, we'd only do it in very small doses. Now she loves it.

We started after the first month. Really, she hates it. We started using the boppy recently and that helps some.

Started at one month. She hates it, but now at three months she tolerates it for about 5 minutes. You can also lay down and put your baby on your chest on their stomach, that might keep them entertained a little better.

Immediately if you consider skin-to-skin, belly to chest, "tummy time." Probably around one month on the floor on a blanket. He also hated it and continued hating it (reflux) right up until 4ish months, though he slowly began to tolerate it more. He would go for longer on a soft bed instead of the floor, or propped on a Boppy. Now, he's pretty good with it unless he's cranky.
