I got mine from Discount Dance Supply. We only have one tutu, and it came from A Wish Come True.

@Bao: check the sales tab on the Danskin, Block, and Capezio websites. I got a few leotard dresses on sale on Amazon a couple of months ago, but they were a daily deal. I looked at Discount Dance supply but didn't find anything I liked.

How old is your niece? I prefer the leotard dresses as opposed to separate leotards and tutus/skirts because the little ones just mess with the detachable skirts the whole class--pulling them up, down, stretching them out, etc. But if your niece is older, that may not matter. I would also go for a wrap skirt rather than a tutu. Could just be my area, but no one wears actual tutus in ballet class outside of a performance.

Does your niece need a specific color? Our studio assigns each age level a color. 2-3 has to be in violet, 3-4 has to be in petal pink, 5+ has to be in black with pink tights (for ballet, other colors for other dance classes).

@Bao: That's great--give you more freedom to look for sales and just snap up whatever is a good deal. Maybe as we get close to Black Friday, there will be good sales. I got that linked Danskin dress for 30% off the current price.
