Do you disagree over tv volume?
DH likes it SO LOUD ALL THE TIME and our tv is in the living room, which is pretty centrally located, so you can definitely hear it wherever you are. I always joke that DH should get his hearing checked because it's SO LOUD. I hate it! He occasionally uses headphones, but not all the time. It stresses me out, I feel like the chaos of a toddler plus the eardrum blasting volume of the tv gets overwhelming at times!

OMG! I never understand why the TV is so loud in our house. Drives me nuts. I think my husband just loves his TV so much that he just can't help himself

Yep. Luckily we don't have cable so it's usually DH playing video games and he can plug headphones into the controller which is great. I hate overhearing video game noises! Though when he plays online with his friend then I get his one sided yelling at the game...I suppose there is no winning!

Oh yes, I usually have the volume at 4-5 while my husband has it on 9-10. So loud!!!

Yes! And he doesn't understand that being able to hear the children is an integral part of parenting!

He prefers it louder than me but will usually lower the volume with minimal complaining when I ask at least.
@MenagerieMama: the video game noises bother me so much more. I absolutely hate them! And I can't even blame him because some parts will be so quiet then BAM loud explosions. (Because I live with a teenager apparently).

Mine likes the volume turned way up. He doesn't even turn it down during commercials. Sometimes he'll plug his headphones into the Roku. He uses headphones all the time when he's working, which I bet is partly why he likes the volume loud.

Yes. DH has hearing loss though so I used to just deal with the tv being loud until he got hearing aids last month. Now I have to ask him to turn it up. It's weird! I'm much happier with the tv not so loud.

Yeah, I usually like it pretty low, like at 2 or 3. DH keeps it at 5 or 6, so not too bad.

@Foodnerd81: yeah the explosions really annoy me too! I am also married to a teenager, or a 10 year old boy (see previous Lego Star Wars post!) ha

DH isn't that bad with volume but I like it really low so I am always turning it down! Our tv is in the basement though so it isn't too annoying if it's turned up high. My dad is hard of hearing and when we visit the tv is so loud it hurts my ears! You definitely cannot have a conversation or hear DS crying/calling for us.

It isn't bad, but it's louder than I like it to be. He's nice and keeps it tolerable, and if I ask him to turn it down, he will.

DH definitely watches TV at a much higher volume than me. He claims he can't hear it otherwise.

We argue about this CONSTANTLY. Noise in general gives me such anxiety, so loud TV, doors slamming, toddler screaming, etc all give me the heeby jeebies.
