Congrats first off! I'm interested to see who you really are!!

No advise really though. My mom had twins though, and I know she wouldn't change anything in the world. Plus I think it's fun having twin siblings!!

Congrats! I don't have twins myself - but there are a lot of perks! Only one pregnancy instead of two to get your babies into the world, easier to deliver since they are sometimes smaller than a regular singleton, best friends for life, etc.! Good luck!

Congratulations!! You must be so excited (and terrified) at all once. I'm not a twin mama and have no advice for you, hopefully the other multiple mamas can offer some. You can totally do this!!

Hi! I'm a twin mom... my boys are 8 days old.

First - congrats! Second - breathe.

It is completely normal to freak out when you find out. After telling the ultrasound tech that she must be wrong, I blurted out "but how am I going to pay for college?!"

The excitement does come and you balance it with the worry. Do you know if your twins are mo/mo or mo/di? My boys are di/di. It is important to know what risks you are facing, but equally important to obsess over them. It's much easier said than done, I know, but it's good to be informed and in the loop with your docs. If you haven't already, you should be hooked up with a maternal/fetal medicine doc for closer monitoring.

Reach out to Moms of Multiples groups in your area. Mine was such a great resource and now I will be a full member since my boys have arrived. There are BTDT multiples moms that are always ready to help with advice. There are other moms of multiples on here (@MerryC, Tequiero) and we're all willing to help. I can give you my email if you'd like. Let me know if you need anything!

I am an identical twin and my mom didn't find out until she was 8m pregnant (didn't do ultrasounds routinely back then) so take comfort in the fact that you have time to process this information and prepare. You can do it!

I just want to say...CONGRATS!!! I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be, but also it's so exciting!!! Twins are super special, especially identical ones! I am thinking back to reading the Sweet Valley series as a kid... You can do it, just take things slowly!

Congrats! Don't be scared. My brother has two sets of twins and you make it work. Either way, you've got have your baby on a schedule, and what not so now you'll just do it for 2. It'll be ok! I would love boy/girl twins, but the cost does scare me. But like everything else in life, you'll find a way!

I believe everything happens for a reason. It took about a week for the news to really sink in and feel real for DH and me, but now, I just can't imagine it any other way.

As time passes, you'll get used to the idea!

CONGRATS!!!! I am currently 24 weeks with fraternal twin girls.

I had $$ scares in the beginning too, my husband reminded me that we have to think about the now and cross the $$ bridge when we get to it. So, don't worry about cars, college, etc.. bc we still have several more years until we get there Also, you aren't going to need 2 of everything, if there is a multiples group near you they usually have wonderful sales twice a year and its a great place to get items if $$ is a concern

Pregnancy wise - carrying twins is much different that carrying a singleton. Example, I am 24 weeks measuring 35 weeks. Yeah things for us get a little uncomfortable earlier on. My couple items of sanity are a belly belt support band that will help if your back begins to ache and good sneakers if you can wear them during the day. If you can't then try to stay off your feet as much as possible.

Don't stop drinking water and eating protein Although I don't have identicals, if you have any questions I'm more than happy to help.

As for $$ issues, there are quite a few twins programs while you're pregnant. I have them in a book I read.. I'll find it today and post them.

It will take time but you will adjust and then you won't be able to imagine life with out TWO!! I had some disappointment at my 20 week scan when I found out it was a boy and it took some time, and before you know it I couldn't even imagine a girl anymore, and I wanted a boy all along.

@Twins on the way: congratulations! as a mother of almost 5 month twins (boy and girl) I definitely understand the shock, fear, and excitement that comes with first... Wrapping your mind around two babies, Getting through a healthy pregnancy and then trying to nurture and raise two babies at the same time! At first I cried when I found out and they were tears of raw fear at that time.. The excitement really will sink in soon! I honestly shied away from twin related stuff the first half because I didn't want to hear or be overly stressed about the risks that come with carrying twins i just focused on taking care if me, keeping my stress levels low and trying to relax. I primarily just listened to my ob. My pregnancy overall was pretty smooth and felt pretty good throughout it. I slept a lot, ate a lot, hung out with my friends.. Spent a lot of time on the couch watching tv and Netflix! I did read a lot of general parenting blogs but as I got bigger and heavier and started prepping gear for the babies I started looking at twin related material too. Its been almost a year since we found out we were expecting twins - at this point revisiting those initial feelings is strange! Things are challenging with two infants but so joyous - I couldnt imagine it any differently! Please let me know if you have any q's at any time!

I'm an identical twin and it is awesome!! Most twins consider their twinship to be one of the greatest gifts of their lives! I definitely agree.
