While sharing a car has been nice for spending time together and saving on gas, it has been very complicated trying to coordinate our schedules 100% of the time and/or having to rely on family and friends to help us when we need to be in two places at the same time. I'm so thankful for the flexibility our new second car gives us. We found something in our price range and paid for it in cash, so there is no extra car payment cutting into our budget every month! Our savings took a little hit to cover the balance, since our insurance check from our last vehicle didn't cover the entire purchase price. But, we can work on building that back up and not have to worry about making installment and interest payments monthly. Yay!

The place we purchased the car from includes a 3 month warranty on all of their vehicles (for no extra cost if you meet the asking price). So, we are pretty much covered if any catastrophes pop up with it during my 3 month maternity leave starting in a few weeks! I know that means we probably paid more than we should by meeting the asking price, but I like the peace of mind this gives us while we don't have my income to count on during my maternity leave.

For those of you that offered advice on car shopping, specific brands, etc. THANK YOU!! Your advice was much appreciated.

DH fell in love with a 2006 Mazda6 since it was a little more stylish and a better fit for him than the Civic's we were considering. I hope this car works out and we can to drive and enjoy it for many years to come!
