I started training for a 5K on Monday - went 5 miles total with running for 2 minutes every half mile. My hips are so sore! Nothing else feels too bad. My feet don't hurt and my calves are just a tiny bit sore/tight. I'm guessing the reason my hips hurt so badly is because of bad form. I tried looking up how to correct it, but a lot of what I found online went over my head.
Is this common? Does anyone have any tips to reduce the stress on my hips?
Also, should I still work out while I'm sore or wait a few days? I don't want to wait because then the training schedule will be off, but I don't want to push myself too hard at the beginning.
