TWW - POAS in June!

    @Alivoo01: I'll keep everyone posted

I'm tentatively setting my poas date as June 19 but I won't commit until I get my crosshairs!

@Arden - can you put me down for June 11th?

I think I'm already out this month though because I got an ultrasound yesterday and the doc said that it looks like I'll be getting my period soon =P Today is 17 DPO with high temps just getting higher, but my LP for the last two cycles has been 23 days. It's NOT fun.

By the way - anyone on this thread by chance have "Fibroids"??
They saw from my ultrasound that I have 2 - one which is in the cavity of my uterus that they say I might want to consider taking out. Anyone have experience with these?

  3. mrsdoily

    apricot / 367 posts

@Emilie: My mother and grandmother had them. My mother chose not to get her removed when they were first discovered, but eventually as she got older they caused so many problems that she had them removed and they went ahead and removed the lining of her uterus because she was done having children. My grandmother had a couple like you but never removed them and from what I understand they never gave her any problems. I guess they are actually pretty common.

  4. Emilie

    cherry / 144 posts

@MrsDoily - yeah, they are very common, but most people don't even realize that they have them until they get an ultrasound because they're pregnant.

My main thing is that they said that the chance of them growing much larger during pregnancy is high, and apparently you're six times more likely to have to get a c-section if you have fibroids. If you have surgery to take them out, it's a risk as well and you need a few months for your uterus to heal before you try to get pregnant.

I'd love to know if others have experience with this - thanks!!

@Arden: thanks for putting my date

Ladies, temp went up a little this morning so it's pretty safe to say I did ovulate!!!! This is very exciting bc since going off the pill I've had cycles as long as 58 days. This one is headed for about 33 days! Shortest one in a year!!!!!!!

  7. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@sslm: That's great news!!! 33 days is a nice normal length and will be so much easier to wait through!

  8. PBandBaseball

@sslm: That is great news!!! 33 days is so much better!

I am 4 DPO today & have been crazy busy with work and school, so time is flying by. Hopefully it will continue to be like that through the TWW. Last month I had one high day followed by two peak days and one high day on the CBEFM. This month I had FOUR high days followed by two peak days and one high day. I'm hoping that the Clomid did its thing. We were also really good about the every other day approach that my dr. suggested.

Fingers crossed for all of the June testers!!

    @sslm: Hooray!! That's a relief!!!

I think I'm 11dpo. I might test tomorrow before the ultrasound but given the cervix complication, I might just wait because I'm sure it'll be BFN. I'm having absolutely no symptoms at all and just feel like AF is going to be here today or tomorrow. I'm actually glad that at least she's not here yet - she arrived 9dpo last month so this is good news for my LP. Silver lining..?

  10. lilteacherbee

    cantaloupe / 6791 posts

@sslm: I hear you girl! I ovulated yesterday, at CD 33, which felt like foreverrr but it was the earliest since going off the pill at the end of Feb! Hopefully, more good things are coming your way!

@JoJoGirl: Yes, I'd say the lengthened LP is definitely a silver lining! Fingers crossed for you and your ultrasound tomorrow.

  11. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@PBandBaseball: Oh wow, that's great! I hope the Clomid worked some magic and you have a BFP in your future!!!

@JoJoGirl: Yes! It's definitely good that your LP is lengthening! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow!

I'm CD 11 today and expecting to ovulate between CD 14 and 17. I'm planning on having sex tomorrow, Sunday, and Tuesday (CD 12, CD 14, and CD 16) to cover my basis (and I'll extend that if I ovulate later). I'm feeling really calm about this month and a whole lot less spastic than in the past. I'm a little nervous about having sex during the fertile window because last cycle, Hubs and I got into a huge fight and DIDN'T, but we've been in a really good mood lately, so I'm hoping for the best!

    Good luck everyone this month!

  12. PBandBaseball

    clementine / 861 posts

@Adira: I was really calm about trying this month too! I have been so busy trying to stay afloat with classwork and my job that I have had less time to obsess with TTC. Maybe that's the key to getting our BFPs?

  13. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@PBandBaseball: My gyn told me on Monday the #1 reason for trouble TTC in professional couples is stress! He said to not even use OPKs because it sets up a dynamic of OMG SEX NOW which is inherently stressful. I don't know that I'll follow that advice but definitely interesting to hear it. So you could be right! Fingers crossed!

  14. PBandBaseball

    clementine / 861 posts

@JoJoGirl: My gyn told me to stop temping because I was stressing me out. He was actually really serious about it and convinced me to stop even though I told him that it made me feel better during the TWW. I'm not giving up the monitor though!!

  15. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@lilteacherbee: wohoo!! I hope your cycles continue to get shorter, or even better, get your BFP this cycle!!!

  16. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@PBandBaseball: Haha yeah, I tried temping for like a week and that was enough to know I should stop. I'm still going to use the OPKs though because I'm still regulating post-bc and my cycles are SUPER unpredictable!

  17. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@JoJoGirl: I agree with the others - your longer LP is definitely a positive!!!

@Arden: Hi, would you please add me to the list to POAS on June 18. That's when I expect AF. In reality I will probably test on 6/17 since that is Father's Day and it would be a super cool to tell DH that day if I do get a BFP!

  20. Alivoo01

    wonderful olive / 19353 posts

@JoJoGirl: My doctor also said not to purchase OPKs because 1) they're costly and we should invest that money in diapers instead and 2) it'll just cause more stress to conceiving a baby. However, I continue to use them. It's calming to know exactly when we absolutely have to BD.

@PBandBaseball: I'm also pretty calm this month (I was going bonkers last month). While I'd love to see a BFP in the next couple of weeks, I'm already mentally prepared and okay if I don't see it. Weird!!

@kentuckygirl: I plan on POAS on June 16 because that'll be 13 DPO for me, and it'd be awesome to do a lil father's day thing for the hubby if it's a BFP! Here's to us and getting our BFP!!!

    @Adira: Good moods = funner/better BD! Happy BD-ing!!

@JoJoGirl: Funny, my doctor told me to use them so I would know when I am ovulating. She told me not to stress over charting for 6 months though. Opps, I didn't listen very well.

  22. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@PBandBaseball: @JoJoGirl: I definitely agree in theory that not charting and stuff could alleviate some stress, but I'm not really sure that that would work for me. I really like knowing WHEN we need to have sex - otherwise I'm afraid I would just miss it completely and that would probably stress me out even more! I mean, it definitely puts the pressure on because I know we HAVE to have sex tomorrow and Sunday, etc, but if I wasn't charting, how would I know when to do it? I guess that's why they say you should just have sex every other day after your period is over, but honestly, we don't have sex that often, so I want to make sure that we DO have it as often as we need to during the right window!

  23. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

I'm 12DPO I believe today. I did take a cheapy yesterday and it was BFN but it's still early so I'm not stressing about it.
I won't test again until Monday morning the 11th which would put me at 15 or 16DPO if I haven't seen AF by then.
I think I might be feeling the effects of AF coming on but I am really not upset about it for some reason this month. I'm just kinda like whatever lol

  24. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Adira: @Smurfette: Oh trust me, I still plan to use them! Cycle 1 was so long I'm pretty sure we timed BD a full 7 days early (and frankly, we don't BD on our own enough during the work week to say it could happen anyway). So Cycle 2 and 3 I used OPKs and don't plan to stop. My cycle is SUPER unpredictable and they dont make me feel stressed out at all - on the contrary, I feel so happy when I see the smiley face and know it's the right time

I guess I should have added that he said "Don't use OPKs, just have sex every 3 days". Those of us for whom that is unrealistic will probably just stick with OPKs! Heheheh.

I got my crosshairs!! And then promptly changed Tuesday's temp to manipulate my chart to say I o'd on Monday not Tuesday lol. 4 dpo! Not feeling confident about this cycle for some reason.

  28. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

I am 10DPO and my temps are still up. This morning was higher then yesterday. This is my first month charting, when will temps start to go down? The day I get my period? Or spotting?

  29. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@Smurfette: sadly it's different for everyone! I've heard of people have still have high temps a couple of days into their periods!

  30. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@sslm haha, sometimes I do that too (manipulate FF to tell me what I want it to)

@smurfette For me, my temps stay up until the actual day I get my period or even a day or two after, but it is definitely different for everyone...Fingers crossed for you!

  31. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@Trailmix: haha! I'm just so sure it was Monday. It won't even really make a difference but it matters to me!!!!

  32. Grace

@Smurfette: Mine often start to go down a few days before AF and then there is a huge drop off the of. Then there will be the freak month where they stay above coverline until a few days into the next cycle.

  33. photojane

    cantaloupe / 6164 posts

@Crisark: i tested at 13dpo and got a bfn, then tested again 14dpo and got a bfp, so there's still hope! crossing my fingers for you!

Wow, I love this thread! I had no idea what POAS meant until I read through a few comments - so exciting!

I want to join, but unfortuantely I can't give a date. My first cycle was 64 days, then 21 days later I started spotting and it turned heavy and I"m still bleeding 8 days later. So I actually have no idea where I am in my cycle

My goal right now is just to KNOW when I should POAS in July - meaning hopefully my cycle will regulate. Good luck to everyone else!!

    clementine / 861 posts

@Modern Daisy: I hope that your cycles even out soon. This thread is awesome. It makes the TWW so much better when you're going through it with a supportive group of girls !

@moderndaisy Join us anyways and we can put you on the list as 'TBD' Fun to see you over here now from WB!

  39. lilteacherbee

    cantaloupe / 6791 posts

@Modern Daisy: Welcome I think we quit BC around the same time. My first cycle was 44 days, then 50 days, and now I'm on CD 35/2 DPO. Hope your cycle figures itself out. I'm sure the bleeding is super frustrating. Fingers crossed for you!!

  40. Modern Daisy

    grapefruit / 4187 posts

@PBandBaseball - I totally agree, this is such a great idea! We can't really talk to people about it in real life, so having support and excitement here is just beyond amazing. It makes me smile

@Trailmix - nice to see you too!! I will definitely join as TBD then, I'm excited just to be on the list - it makes it feel more real!

@lilteacherbee - How long had you been on BC? I had been taking it pretty consistently for about 15 years and I only had a couple natural periods before I started at age 16. So I actually have no idea what a 'normal' cycle for me is. And yes the bleeding is super frustrating for many reasons - on top of the fact that I have no idea where I am in the cycle I mean come on already, it's summer!! I am crossing my fingers for you, good luck!
