I have Sorel's, and I agree with @betsyboop: they are quite heavy! That being said, in snow, they're fabulous. I'm very glad that I got them!

I have the UGG Adirondack (tall, not the short ones) and have had them for 3 or 4 years, I can't remember. They still look brand new!

How comfortable are they in snow? - VERY! We get a lot of snow and ice where I live, for months at a time. I have never slipped with these boots on. I've been out scraping ice off my car in -20 degrees and my feet and legs were toasty and warm.

How comfortable are they without snow? - Also, very! They are not super light, but also not what I would call heavy. It's not a pain to wear them when it isn't snowing. I wear from to/from work every day from mid-Nov to April because you never know when we'll get snow.

Are they durable? Do you think they'll last a few years? Like I said, I've had them for several years and they still look brand new. I've had zero issues with them so far, and anticipate wearing them for many years to come.

Do you love them? YEP!!!! I highly recommend them!

Bumping this up because I saw that Sierra Trading Post has the Sorel Joan of Arctics for around $100.

I am seriously contemplating, but I am kind of holding off until the pair I currently have (Uggs) dies. They're 5 years old and still kicking, so I feel like I should just wait until the end of season sales...right?

@locavore_mama: Mine are the Brooks model, in brown. They're perfectly fine for what I use them for, but I envsion a little more outdoor snow activity next winter (not this one coming up) when my son's going to be out sledding and what not.

I think I am going to wait as well, maybe they'll do a closeout on a not popular color combo on the Sorels...but I should probably try them on in a store to see if the weight bothers me!

I also have the Sorel Joan of Arctic boots. I felt that they were comfortable and VERY warm both with and without snow. However, as others have said, they are heavy! I feel like a moose when I wear them. However, I do loooove the style and color choices and I'm sure they will last at least 3-4 winters.
