How early was your first ultrasound with your RE (fertility specialist)? I'm scheduled for week 6, but my husband will be out of state. Thinking I might want to move it up a week earlier. But, maybe that's too early?

I went at 6w6d. I wanted to see the heartbeat. My RE suggests not coming before the mid 6 weeks. It was a long wait between betas and the ultrasound!

6 weeks was the earliest mine would schedule. Before that you may not see much.

you may not see very much any earlier, so if it may cause you more stress, i'd wait

My first 2 Ivf pregnancies were at 6w. My last one I had one at 5 weeks (just for placement purposes they said). However all you can see is a sac at that point and since my second Ivf pregnancy had been a blighted ovum (just a sac) all that did was add to my anxiety.
I would recommend waiting until after 6 weeks so you can be sure you see something/have a heartbeat.

I saw the heart flicker at 6+3 and heard a heartbeat of 125 at 6+6 the ultrasound so close was due to bleeding. My RE had an intense weekly schedule for me though, they started at 5+3 and continued until 9+6.

Last time (almost 4 years ago) mine was at 7 weeks. They wouldn't even consider scheduling one before that.
I would advise against it before 6 weeks for the same reason already mentioned. There's nothing to see and it will only add to anxiety (no HB then). I doubt they would schedule one at for 5 weeks for you.

Mine was 6w6d - that was the earliest they would go. Moving up a week would definitely be too early, I think. If you want your husband there I would move it back.

I had one at 6w and they couldn't get a strong heartbeat so I went back at 8 w. I definitely wouldn't do less than 6 weeks.

This pregnancy I had one at 4w5d because my hcg levels indicated we should see something (we did, two tiny little specs lol). My follow up after that was at 6w5d and we saw two lovely heartbeats.
For DS pregnancy 3 years ago, I want to say my first scan was 5w5d? I think my RE's office generally does it once hcg levels reach 1000 to see if it's in utero or ectopic.

I think I'll just keep the appointment. I'll be about 6weeks, 1day.

I have longer cycles and was not on a medicated cycle with my RE, so she had me in at 5w5d for this pregnancy, we did not see a heartbeat until the next appointment a week or so later.
With my daughter I ended up with an US at what turned out to be 5w6d (again long cycles but we were not trying so not tracking), and I did see the HB then.
Congrats and good luck!

@MrsTal: did your RE calculate your due date with LMP or date of IUI?

I had an u/s with DS at 5 weeks because I was having severe pain (turned out to be harmless ovarian cysts). They saw a sac, but nothing more.

@CatchAFallingStar: I went for my first ultrasound at 19dp6dt, or 5w4d. I saw the gestational sac and (I think) yolk sac. We did not see the heartbeat. The second ultrasound was at 6w4d and we saw the fetal pole and the heartbeat flickering. Ultrasound at 7w4d we actually heard the heart beat.

Not with an RE but I had early ultrasounds for dating and due to bleeding.
Lo1: 6w4d, heartbeat seen
Lo2: 5w1d only sac seen, about 6w sac and "something", 6w2d I think it was, we saw a heartbeat
Current pregnancy: 6w4d measuring 6w2d heartbeat seen

@CatchAFallingStar: I *think* we saw a flicker but couldn't hear it. My RE did my due date based off my IUI date. It would have been moved several days if he kept to LMP. All my measurements for the twins line up with my iui date too.
