BabyOblivia lost hers this morning (yay!) but now I have this icky thing that I feel bad throwing away but am too grossed out by to save.

Trash!! We at first thought the dog ate it and were totally freaking out/grossed out... but we found it. And threw it away promptly.

Our dog ate it we are assuming. It was never found after it came off...

After I freaked out because it fell off while I was holding him(it was kind of hilarious), I(meaning my husband) threw it out!

I threw it away. My mom kept mine and both of my siblings. She thought I was horrible for not saving it!

It fell off and got stuck to my DHs shirt. Lol he walked around with it on him all day until he saw it and got grossed out. Lol then It went in the trash!

OMG - after reading this thread, I said to DH, "What did we do with her umbilical cord?" And he looked off into space and said, "Uhhhh..." He remembers putting it into a little Ziploc bag to save, but neither of us know where the bag is! We think it's in DH's office.
Here's a story for the ages - DH's mom put his umbilical cord in her purse and carried it around for a while (not sure how long), and one day she peeked in there and it was covered in ants. Seriously. Bleccchhhh.

Took a photo, then threw it out. That made me feel better, we really didn't need to save it.

I thought about saving it for a minute, but decided it was too gross and pitched it!

I put it in an empty medicine bottle (the brown semi-transparent kind). The bottle is in a bag with the hospital bracelets. We can decide later on if we want to throw it out, but I'm not ready to make that decision.
