Hey any ladies have a baby who had an umbilical granuloma? My daughter does and we took her to the doctor and they put some silver nitrate on it but I'm not sure how to tell if it's getting better?

What does it look like now? My kiddo lost their umbilical cord three days ago and I’m wondering if I need to go get it looked at.

It's supposed to look all dried up afterwards. I can't remember if it was obvious right away, or if it took a day or two.

@Petitduck: it just look yellow and goopy when it fell off. It wasn't infected though. @Mama Bird: yeah idk if it's a process or what. They never told me

@cyoung: two of my kids’ umbilical curds looked like that and oozed and bled too, but then dried up two days after. So I guess if it isn’t drying up in a few days it might need more attention.
