I know there are a million Umbrella stroller threads, but I've been reading through them and haven't found the answer to all my questions!

I'm looking at used umbrella strollers on Clist and my local mommy listserv. The biggest contenders seem to be the Maclaren Quest and the G-Luxe at the higher price point, and the Ignite at the lower price point. I like the new Joovy Groove ultralight, but that's too new for people to be selling used just yet--same for the Mountain Buggy nano.

I'm not sure how much I'll even use it--seems like now that LO is older (and will soon be in a convertible car seat), an umbrella stroller will be easier for car trips/short errands in the car. And an umbrella might be good for flights.

Right now, I still use my big B-Ready every day walking around town.

But...are the expensive models really worth the extra expense? Even used, they are stupidly expensive in my opinion. Where I live now, they are definitely a bit of a status symbol as well. We all live in small apartments and most don't drive, but everyone has 2-3 expensive strollers for their one child. Most people I know have an Uppababy Vista/Bugaboo and a Quest/G-luxe.

Or are there features that really make a Quest or G-luxe way better than say, an Ignite? I've read about the sun shade issues, but I can buy a Rayshade and take care of that.

Also, since I'm looking at used--are there big differences in model years I should know about? Like if someone is posting a 2010 G-Luxe or Quest, is there some major upgrade I would prefer in a newer model?
