I take 1 b6 and 1/2 tab of unisom every day since 6 weeks. My nurse recommended it when I told her about my nausea. I think it definitely helps. I haven't been AS sick as a lot of people (no puking, just lots and lots of feeling icky and nauseous). As I got to 12 weeks I tried stopping the b6 and unisom because I was feeling lots better, and the days I didn't take it I got nauseous again. So for now, I'm sticking with it.

50 mg B6 and 1/2 a Unisom. It didn't really help with the nausea (maybe a little?), I ended up getting Zofran. I had trouble sleeping though and I kept taking 1/2 a Unisom at night to help me sleep! It helped with that!

It saved me. I took one tab of Unisom and 100 mg of B6 (as approved by my OB). If I missed it, I was miserable and puking. I only stopped after 20 weeks.

It did nothing for me, but my doc decided that more of my ms issues are due to reflux, so I went on acid controllers which helped more.

Nope, it did NOTHING for me. I got on zofran at around 7 weeks and i'm still on it. Maybe i'll give the unisom combo another try later when the urge to puke is not so severe.

It took the edge off my nausea (at 50mg B6 and 1/2 tab Unisom), but I'm not sure how helpful it would be if I was vomiting as well.

I took just the B6 - 25 mg 3-4 times a day and it definitely helped at least a little most of the time. I think my nausea and vomiting was not as bad as a lot of women experience though.

It totally saved me for the first month. It didn't work as well the 2nd month but I still took it. I dont' think anything (other than Zofran) could have helped during month 2-3. Mine was really bad!

Thanks everyone! I'm 15 weeks now and have finally agreed to take something (my midwife's been asking me if I'd be interested for a while). I lost 10 pounds but then my weight held steady for almost 4 weeks. This past week has been HORRIBLE though and I've lost another pound so I've decided to try something. She said to try this first and I should know if it works after the first dose. If not, we'll move to prescriptions.
I haven't thrown up, I just have constant nausea that makes it impossible to do or eat anything. It wakes me up at night and everything I'm typically pretty strong and have only thrown up a few times in my life, so I'm surprised how much control this has had over me
I had a lot of morning sickness with my first pregnancy too, but I think chasing my son now really changes the dynamics.

I was still sick while taking it but it was more tolerable. I took 50mg b6 and half unisom - I quit at 21 weeks because my ob didn't want the unisom affecting my milk supply.

I did both Unisom/B6 and Zofran until 14 weeks, when I went down to just B6 and Zofran. I came off of the Zofran at 16 weeks and am now just taking B6.
It helped a little, but honestly, I think it just made severe nausea a bit more tolerable. Even Zofran wasn't able to take the edge off of that. Though I was too afraid it was don't something to stop it!

@Ash: I didn't realize it can decrease milk supply!! I'm still nursing my son right now, and my supply is already pretty low due to the pregnancy... hmmm, now I'm not sure if I should risk it

I took 25 mg of B6 three times a day and 1/2 a tab of Unisom at night. It helped some, but wasn't super effective once I started throwing up regularly. It was a lot more effective when I was nauseous.
I'm still taking the Unisom because the last time I didn't take it at night, I threw up three times the next day. I'm just scared to stop now. At 18 weeks, though, I am starting to feel a bit better.

Our pediatrician has a big sign that says, "Pregnant? Avoid Unisom! Talk with your OBGYN about alternatives." - Something like that. It's huge, and very visible in his office. He actually recommends avoiding all antihistamines while pregnant.

@Vegmama: Interesting, I know the Unisom/B6 combo (as Benedictin) was taken off the market a long time ago because there was some scandal about birth defects but they continued using it in Canada, and it was shown to be safe and that scandal was shown to be made up. So they've recently brought the combo back on the market here as Diclegis, which is Category A I think? But the Unisom does make me crazy sleepy, which is why I could only take it at night and never when I'm about to drive.

i had pretty light morning sickness all things considered, and Restavit + B6 (as it is sold in Australia) really helped. It basically took away my nausea. I know I had it very easy. I also attribute it to taking a high dose of B6 from the time I found out I was pregnant (on the advice of my GP) - first in one dose in the morning til about 6 weeks, and then split in 3 doses throughout the day.

It helped a little, but I still puked multiple times a day until 24 weeks.

Bumping this! I just got a prescription for Diclegis and I am hopefully optimistic that it will work. I'm not throwing up, just feeling horrendous all day nausea (I'm 7.3 weeks).
