Umm wow! Cant say I have ever had anyone comment while buying those things. I think if they did I would totally give a dirty look. I would not mean to but I think the shock of the comments I would have a hard time NOT giving a dirty face. I mean REALLY? Wow!

No cashier has ever made comments to me about things like prenatals, pregnancy tests or any baby gear for that matter.

No, I've never had cashier make comments but I HAVE seen a few give weird looks, especially when I was buying pregnancy tests.

I used to work in the pharmacy (i used to be a pharmacy technician during college years) and I've seen people buy all SORTS of odd things. But I always kept my comments to myself. Like one time, an old man came in and bought 5 boxes of condoms and 4 bottles of KY Jelly. Then he asked me if the pharmacist recommended ribbed or unribbed condoms!

The cashier at publix remembered that I bought a pregnancy test and when I was in her line a few days later she asked if I was pregnant. Ummmm..... I haven't even told my parents yet but you think I'm going to tell you?!

when buying pregnancy tests, i have twice gotten "good luck" from random teenage boy cashiers - it made me laugh though, because they looked concerned about the prospect of pregnancy when they said it

I totally did have this happen!! And we weren't even TTC. The girl was like "ohhhh do you want to be pregnant?" I just lied and said yes bc it was easier that way haha

I'd hope they asked without thinking and had that immediate feeling of foot-in-mouth!

I only got a comment like that in a Babies R Us. "Are you registered with us?" "Not yet." "Are you expecting?" "Not yet." Then a conversation on how smart it was of us to price baby crap before pregnancy. Mostly, we just had 3 hours to kill.

If my cashier can ask about how to use one of the many random veggies I get, my cashier can comment on my pregnancy tests. Honestly, I got the weirder looks when I was buying obviously single-person food despite the wedding/engagement ring on my finger.

Yep, reason why when I was TTC I started ordering OPKs online.

Yep, the first time I bought OPK's at the store the cashier told me "Good luck!" I was a bit mortified. I mean, it wasn't even a rude question, it was just SO awkward. I didn't know what to say, I just smiled and walked away.

Wow how rude! When I was about 36 weeks pregnant I was in Walmart and one of my items was thin pads. The cashier looked at me and said "I didn't know you could have your period when you are pregnant." I was so embarrassed and not about to tell her in front of a line of people that they were for my pregnant bladder leakage. So the comments don't end!

Dh buys all of my pregnancy tests and I guess every time the cashier gives him a look and says "oops!"

I only got a few comments when buying tests, but I didn't really mind. I think they are just trying to be nice.

I do think a couple of them recognised me since it took so long and they give an extra smile when I come through with my LO.

I HATE chatty checkers! I was literally jumping up and down when our local store got self-checkouts last month.

I have gotten comments on personal items (condoms, lube, pregnancy tests, a whole long conversation about pre-seed where I wanted to smack the cashier), but I even get annoyed with the chattiness about what food I'm buying.

"Tofu? That's weird. I heard it tastes like cow brain. Does it?" Um.... yeah. Exactly. That's why I buy it, because I'm worried about Mad Cow disease so I figured I'd better cut back on the cow brain...

"Wow, you eat healthy! Well, except these Cheetos. Why are you ruining all your healthy eating with cheetos?"
Because I'm pregnant you jerk, and I haven't been able to think of anything else for the last three days and now I feel like crying from guilt over feeding my baby cheetos...

UGH! I hate cashier small talk! I always bought that kind of stuff through self checkouts.

I bought a couple of dollar store tests and the cashier informed me that "everyone was getting knocked up". Uhhh, okay? And then she told me she hoped it came out negative. I flashed my wedding set and said "I'm hoping it's positive." she then said that with a rock like that I could probably afford a child and said that it would be okay if I got pregnant. Thanks for your blessing, crazy cashier with no teeth and vulgar tattoos.
