What are some wedding gifts you registered and received but haven't used yet?
For us...food processor, ice cream maker, some picture frames, serving platter and comforter!

We didn't register and got almost all cash/checks/gift cards! But we did buy a coffee maker we barely use with a gift card!
Most used item: our sheets, also purchased with gift cards!

I haven't used some picture frames or an ice cream maker. I didn't register for the ice cream maker though. I also got a food processor and didn't use it for almost two years. I use it all the time now!

we just returned gifts we knew we wouldn't really use.. got merchandise credit. woohoo!

fondue set and bamboo steamer. i'm sure there are a few more, but can't think of them off the top of my head.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
Actually I can't think of anything! We didn't get a lot of stuff, we got more money than anything. But everything we did get, we use!

A wine picnic set - it was a little tray with two holes in it to hold wine glasses. You stick in in the ground. We had all these visions of going to concerts in the local vineyards and stuff. Hasn't happened once!

we got a juicer and used it ONCE....its super cool but it makes a mess and I don't have the time for it

We have a couple things. It's all stuff we wanted/still do want and will use! Bocce ball set, trifle bowl, cake platter, ummm I actually think that's it! We've used everything else

It's only been a year, so there's a bit. Some bakeware (cookie sheets, cake pans, etc). Some tea towels, wine glasses, some casserole dishes, wine stoppers, wine, cocktail glasses.

I think we have used just about everything, the only exceptions that come to mind are a picture frame and we registered for 8 of a certain type of wine glass but we have only ever opened one of the two boxes.
We had a small wedding though and I returned anything that seemed like we wouldn't use it.

Not so much from the wedding, but from my shower- a t-fal nonstick covered caserol that we didn't register for & we had told this person beforehand how we were getting rid of nonstick because of chemicals in them. We don't know where it came from, so we cant return it. We have a bunch of gifts at my parents house still, but we plan on using those, we just don't have space ATM.

A wine rack and some glasses (we stopped drinking wine because I can't drink acid and husband won't finish off a whole bottle before it goes back), a picnic pack we registered for because we thought it was a backpack and wasn't, overkill on things like spatulas (gave those away instantly), and a whole bunch of presents sitting at my parents home in VA that we don't have a way of getting back here to MT. Like ladder golf!!!!

We got 5 different cake platters of different sizes! I didn't even have the energy to take stuff back to the store because by the time our destination wedding was over it was back to work for me and no time at all. We got several cheese knife sets and have yet to use them...they are nice, like marble/antler bone handles...but just haven't had time to get them out to entertain. Several pitchers, fruit bowls, a juicer...I think that's about it.

We've only used our Keurig coffee maker about 10 times in 2 years, never used our immersion blender, only used blender a handful of times..can't think of anything else. We returned a lot of stuff.

The only things we don't use are things we didn't register for. People should know to try to stick to the registry, or if they go off registry, they should have a really good reason to do so. Like Chris's family friend who is an interior designer and got us a bowl and platter set that was right up our alley and goes with everything else. She knocked that one out of the park.

@Mrs. Jacks: My parent's friends did not believe in purchasing off our registry! I had to return numerous toasters and blenders!

@autumnlove: That is so sucky. There is a reason you registered for things, you know?

We had a ton of gear we got like a blender, food processor, kitchen aid mixer, hand blender and magic bullet. I actually feel like we use it all.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
blender--surprising because i used to have smoothies all.the.time.
gravy boat--but i will use it!
picnic set--but now we use the basket for diapers, so we repurposed it. does that count? and the plates for company with toddlers...
we use everything else, even the china, the salad spinner, the bread maker,
we don't use our deep fryer as often as we expected to

I think we still use everything, even 5 years later! But we were pretty cut throat about returning stuff after the wedding to get store credit and then used the credit to buy other things we didn't get. Luckily most people stuck to the registry (or gave $$$!) so I don't think we got random things like frames.

I have so much stuff to use! Pot/pan sets, food processor, ice cream maker, fine dining china/silverware, etc.

We use pretty much everything. Maybe not the punch bowl yet, but we will!
nectarine / 2180 posts
@Mrs. Jacks. Same here. We use everything we registered for, and only don't use some random things we didn't register for (hello, crystal chip and dip set!).

We packaged up all our unused gifts and returned them to Bed Bath & Beyond for store credit, which we then used at Buy Buy Baby. So far we basically haven't paid out of pocket for anything except one of our two strollers!
