Crafty mamas!
DH & I finally found a dining table after looking for over a year. DH is going to building a long bench for one side and I'm going to attempt to upholster it. 
I'm not crafty in the least. LOL
Any tips and sites to check out for upholstery fabric? We don't have great selections locally.

I love Tonic Living. It's based in Canada so shipping is more expensive. A lot of times I'll find a fabric I like on their site and then google around and find it cheaper somewhere else. But their site is the best for browsing. I like how it's laid out and samples are $1 each.

I second @Leialou's suggestion for Tonic Living. We used them for custom drapes and the service was great. They have a great selection as well. I would consider getting samples from them as well, and connect with a US online retailer (which is so much cheaper anyways). There is an Etsy shop that has a ton of upholstery fabric, but i'll have to go digging for the name.

Warehouse fabrics or fabric.com . Fabric.com has ebates cash back. I am an upholstery failure, my bench looked so bad haha!

I think it's easier to search if you know what brand of fabric. I love Robert Allen.

I'm sort of in the same boat! I'm (supposedly) reupholstering our dining room chairs. Someone suggested I check our outdoor fabrics bc they are so easy to clean. Might be worth looking into!

@scg00387: don't scare me!!! On the plus side my mom was a seamstress for two decades and she will be here so I can enlist her help. haha

I really love http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com, though I've only browsed and never ordered. Also, Spoonflower has a great selection and the fabric quality is good (just make sure to order upholstery weight).

I upholster with Sunbrella indoor/outdoor fabric. It cleans up really easily and is really stain resistant. I buy it on fabric.com
