For used clothes, I wouldn't pay much at all---maybe a 1/3 of retail?

And my personal rule for buying used baby stuff in good condition--I won't pay more than half off what I can find online (like on Amazon, say). But obviously, I prefer it for even less.

A recent example: I was looking for a Ktan on Craigslist. There was a guy that had one listed for $35...it's on Amazon right now with free shipping for $50. So I offered $25, he said he was not willing to go less than $30. In my mind, I'm thinking...why wouldn't I just pay $20 more to get a brand new one that I can return if I don't like it? So I told him I wasn't interested.

A week later, I got a Ktan just like it from a different person on Craiglist for $20. Then I felt like it was a "good deal".

I try to sell baby stuff 1/2 off or best offer. I sold my brand new in box jumperoo for $50 when it retailed for $120... sigh

It's impossible to say, I think it totally depends how badly I want something/how badly I want to sell something and how it compares to online. I bought a used jumperoo for $60 off our craigslist because it was the only one to have come up in 4 months and I didn't want to spend $100 on a new one.

@Foodnerd81: thanks!! I'm glad I'm not out in left field on that one. We're having a yard sale soon and I'm going to put it out. I tried local FB resale groups and craigslist once before. If someone makes a reasonable offer at the yard sale at this point we'll take it bc it's taking up soooo much room!

Generally, 1/2 retail. Mostly, thats for gear, furniture, etc. We bought our jumperoo (the Rainforest one) for $30 and I thought that was a steal.

Clothes and shoes, not more than a couple of bucks, depending. Cheapy stuff like Carters/Target/WalMart, I'm not going to be willing to pay much more than $1 per item/$5 per outfit/$3-5 for shoes. Gymboree, Gap and more high end brands, probably $15-20 per outfit.
