I like this and this is how we do it. It is okay to pull from one to give to another IF you are willing to make the rest of the month work for you. Thankfully I get paid monthly so, it is easy for me to allot all the money needed for the month at the beginning of the month. I love getting to the 30th and seeing how much I have left. It's not so much fun, though when what's left is less than a 5 dollar bill.

@mediagirl: we get paid twice a month but budget monthly anyway...this was a "5week" month for us (we pay ourselves every friday) and things got pretty tight...we ended up pulling from savings to buy extra groceries because we didnt plan well enough
but, it isnt a perfect system (or rather, we arent perfect at following it) but it totally helps! I am definitely one who would tgo to target and just throw things in the cart, but when i have to use cash there is a different level of accountability for what we (i) buy.

The video is blocked for me at work, but we don't use cash at all...I think I only pay our cleaning lady in cash....oh and the landscaper when he does a job for us.

@Mrs. Lion: it's so true. It is much harder to drop $70 at Target with cash than it is to do it with the debit card or credit card!!
