I have a friend (a former boss who later became my career mentor and friend), who is quite a bit older than me (like by 14 years). One of the names I like for my LO is the same name as this friend's daughter. Her daughter is about 22 years old. Would it be weird for me to use the name? Or no big deal?

I probably wouldn't, just because I have a thing about not knowing ppl with certain names, but I don't see the big deal in your situation; I say go with the name you love!

@Jumpingjacks: almost happened to us! my boss-mentor-friend has a granddaughter with the name we were thinking we would use if DS had been a girl.
I think he would've thought that it was cute but I definitely did question that with DH. -

I agree, no big deal. I think it could be more of an issue if they were the same age since people can be pretty possessive of their baby names.
